Pokémon Masters: Lucky Skills List and Guide

With the release of Battle Villa, Lucky Skills have been introduced into the game. These skills are unlockable passives that provide your sync pairs with extra utility.

Below is a short guide on Lucky Skills, followed by a full list of all obtainable skills.

How to Unlock Lucky Skills

To unlock Lucky Skills, you’ll need Lucky Scrolls which are obtained in the Battle Villa. You can also obtain a single Lucky Scroll through a mission, after learning your first Lucky Skill. You can access the Lucky Skill menu through the Moves & Skills menu.

To unlock Lucky Skills for a certain sync pair, you’ll need them to be at least Lv. 80 and have the required amount of Lucky Scrolls. The amount of Lucky Scrolls required depends on the base rarity of that sync pair. That’s 3 Lucky Scrolls for 3★ sync pairs, 4 for 4★, and 5 for 5★.

Lucky Cookies

Once you unlock a Lucky Skill, you’ll notice that the slot will be empty. You’ll need different types of Lucky Cookies to actually learn skills. There are four different types of Lucky Cookies: Crunchy, Creamy, Crispy, and Chewy. Each type of Lucky Cookie provides different functions.

Crunchy – offensive, offensive utility
Creamy – defensive: stats and critical hit protection
Crispy – defensive: weather and status effect protection
Chewy – defensive: type protection

Note that if your sync pair already has one of these Lucky Skills as a passive, having one of these Lucky Skills will add directly onto it. For example, Power Reserves 2 on Giovanni & Mewtwo with a Power Reserves 2 Lucky Skill will equate to a Power Reserves 4.

Some skills don’t stack like ones with definite effects like Vigilance, which protects against all critical hits.

Generally, each level of a passive ability will be a 10% increase in power. So, Power Reserves 2 would provide a 20% boost in power (when the sync pair’s health is below a third).

Crunchy Cookie Skills

  • Power Reserves (1/2) – Powers up moves in a pinch.
  • Surging Sand (1-3) – Powers up moves in a sandstorm.
  • Gritty (1-3) – Powers up moves if the Pokémon is affected by a status condition.
  • Superduper Effective 1 – Powers up moves that are super effective.
  • Power Flux (1-3) – The fuller the move gauge, the more this powers up moves.
  • Critical Strike (1/2) – Powers up attacks if they become critical hits.
  • Power Chain (1/2) – Powers up moves when unity bonus is in effect.
  • Hit and Run (1/2) – Has a small chance of raising/Occasionally raises the Pokémon’s Speed after it uses a move.
  • Mad Strength (1/2) – Has a small chance of raising/Occasionally raises the Pokémon’s Attack when one of its attacks is successful.
  • Defense Crush (1/2) – Has a small chance of lowering/Occasionally lowers the target’s Defense when an attack against it is successful.
  • Stoic (1/2) – Has a small chance of raising/Occasionally raises the Pokémon’s Defense after it uses a move.
  • Troublemaker 1 – Raises the chance of success for status moves that inflict status conditions.

The best skill here for Strikers would be Power Flux 3. Someone did the math and found that it gives the best boost in offensive power. For tanks, Stoic 2 could be decent, but consider the other Lucky Cookies.

Creamy Cookie Skills

  • Stout Heart (1-9) – Mitigates the reduction of Attack.
  • Trained Body (1-9) – Mitigates the reduction of Defense.
  • Steady Resolve (1-9) – Mitigates the reduction of Sp. Atk.
  • Trained Mind (1-9) – Mitigates the reduction of Sp. Def.
  • Sudden Sprint (1-9) – Mitigates the reduction of Speed.
  • Mind’s Eye (1-9) – Mitigates the reduction of accuracy.
  • Enlightenment (1-9) – If any stat is reduced, mitigates the reduction of that stat.
  • Headstrong – Attack cannot be lowered.
  • Unbending – Defense cannot be lowered.
  • Dauntless – Sp. Atk cannot be lowered.
  • Stalwart – Sp. Def. cannot be lowered.
  • Haste – Speed cannot be lowered.
  • Acuity – Accuracy cannot be lowered.
  • Vigilance – The Pokémon is protected against critical hits.

Certain sync pairs can benefit immensely from some of these Lucky Skills. Dauntless, for example, on Clair & Kingdra or Zinnia & Rayquaza would be amazing. If you’re going for any kind of mitigation skill, it’s best to go for Enlightenment because it’s all-encompassing.

Crispy Cookie Skills

  • Lessen Poison (1-9) – Reduces damage from being poisoned or badly poisoned.
  • Antitoxin – Prevents the Pokémon from getting poisoned or badly poisoned.
  • Lessen Burn (1-9) – Reduces damage from being burned. Mitigates the reduction of Attack due to being burned.

  • Unflappable – Prevents the Pokémon from flinching.
  • Lessen Trap (1-9) – Reduces damage from being trapped.
  • Escape Artist – Prevents the Pokémon from becoming trapped.
  • Snow Shelter – Protects the Pokémon from damage from a hailstorm.
  • Sand Shelter – Protects the Pokémon from damage from a sandstorm.

It’s safe to ignore the “Lessen” skills because their peak counterparts much better and to be sought after.

Chewy Cookie Skills

There are 18 of these cookies, covering all 18 Pokémon types. They provide a 40% damage reduction, excluding sync move damage.

For tanks, it might be wise to invest into protecting their weakness with these Lucky Cookies.

Games are a longtime passion of mine starting from childhood when my mother bought me my very own Gameboy Color. I’ve been gaming ever since. I’m a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, with what I consider a wide skill set ranging from programming to photography. As the saying goes, a master of none is oftentimes better than a master of one.
