Pokémon Masters EX: Best Maxie & Groudon Sync Grid Builds

Maxie & Groudon bring the sun to shine down on opponents with powerful attacks. Groudon will be common in Sun teams thanks to its various passive skills. With so many sync pairs vying for the sync move, Groudon can keep its focus on Precipice Blades or Solar Beam and still massively contribute to the team. Groudon can max its own critical-hit rate with one move and in the second massively increase its offensive stats with Maxie’s Trainer move. With poor and weakened defenses, Groudon needs to hide behind an ally.

Groudon also wants to have speedy allies to keep tempo on the move gauge. Lyra & Meganium are great to have as an ally for their various stat improvements. Silver & Ho-oh are the only other sync pair to be able to infinitely make the weather sunny. Zinnia & Rayquaza are always interested in weather teams.

The best Maxie and Groudon sync grid builds are, Sync Level 2, Solar Beam (Super Sun & Sync Nuke), Precipice Blades (MGR/Sync Nuke, Sync Nuke/Super Sun, & Super Sun/Propulsion)

Sp. Atk +5

Sp. Def +5

Universal Recommended Lucky Skill:

Critical Strike 2

Each build picks up Dire Hit + Critical Eye 1, which causes the move to grant +3 critical-hit rate with one use. This maxes critical-hit rate and causes Groudon to have a critical hit on every attack. So it goes without saying that the recommended lucky skill is Critical Strike 2, which increases critical-hit damage by 20%.
