6th Job Hexa Matrix Guide – MapleStory

After you complete the 6th Job advancement quest line you will have access to the HEXA MATRIX. It is like the V Matrix but there are some big differences.

Hexa Matrix Short Version

If you don’t care about the in-depth at the moment and just want to get the best start this is what you should know.

The Hexa Matrix requires Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments to activate and level up skills. You get these items from Sol Erda Daily Quest (Erda’s Request), Sacred Power Monster drops, and Hard Boss drops.

Generally, the first thing you want to use your Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments for is activating your 6th Job Mastery node (red) then your Boost nodes (blue). Once all your Hexa Skills are activated and at a decent level you’ll want to activate your Hexa Stat. Currently for the 1st node you want to select ATT/MATT for Main Stat and Boss Damage + Primary Stat for the 2 Additional Stats. When it costs more to level up skills than activate Hexa Stat is a good time to look into Hexa Stat.

It will take you 1000 Hours+ to max out your Hexa Matrix. This does not include stuff like events and daily quest.

Below is more exact information and how each of these systems work. A Hexa Matrix Leveling Priority for each class will be added shortly.

What is the Hexa Matrix?

The Hexa Matrix is where you’ll get new 6th job skills, enhanced 4th and 5th job skills, and new common nodes. The most important things to know in the Hexa Matrix is, Hexa Skill, Hexa Stat, Sol Erda, Sol Erda Energy, and Sol Erda Fragments.

Once you finish the 6th Job quest line you should get your Origin skill for free while your other nodes you’ll have to activate on your own. Click this If you need a quick 6th Job Advancement quest line guide.

HEXA SKILL

Hexa Skill consists of 4 different branches. They are the Skill Nodes, Mastery Nodes, Boost Nodes, and Common Nodes. Depending on the patch some nodes have not been created yet and will be filled in future updates. For example, on launch there will be no Common Nodes.

Skill Nodes (purple) – These are your new Origin Skills (similar to 5th job skills) The Origin skills when used inflict Absolute Bind on the enemy. Different Bind duration for each class but will be at least 10 seconds. The Absolute Bind can bind any boss and can be stacked with all other binds like Erda Nova. Absolute Bind has its own separate cooldown timer and it is 100 seconds.

When in Party Boss fights your party should spread out Origin Skill activations so that you’ll get the most out of locking up the boss.

All Skill Nodes get bonus stats when they reach level 10/20/30 thresholds.

Level 10: 20% Ignore Enemy Defense

Level 20: 20% Boss Damage

Level 30: 30% Ignore Enemy Defense + 30% Boss Damage

Mastery Node (red) – This is where your 4th Job or lower skills will be enhanced (the optimal mobbing and bossing skills of each class will be chosen for these)

In order to unlock this you’ll need your boosted skill in your V Matrix to be level 50. (Enhanced slot does not count)

Boost Node (blue) – This is where your 5th Job skills are enhanced

In order to unlock this you’ll need your 5th job skill node to be level 25. (Enhanced slot does not count)

Common Node (gray) – New skill that every class will have access to like a decent holy symbol.

The Origin skill is activated for free but the Mastery and Boost node will not be. It is best to activate the other nodes first before trying to level up any 1 node because you’ll get more damage that way. The max level of each of the cores is 30.

In order to activate and level up these nodes you will use Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments.

How To Get Sol Erda?

To get Sol Erda you first need to get Sol Erda Energy. 1000 Sol Erda Energy is equal to 1 Sol Erda. When you get 1000 Sol Erda Energy it is automatically converted into 1 Sol Erda.

Sol Erda Energy can be acquired from Daily Quest, Monsters in Sacred Power areas, and certain Bosses

+10+200+500

These bosses drop Sol Erda Energy at varying amounts,

  • Lotus (Hard)
  • Damien (Hard)
  • Lucid (Hard)
  • Will (Hard)
  • Verus Hilla (Normal, Hard)
  • Guardian Angel Slime (Chaos)
  • Gloom (Chaos)
  • Darknell (Hard)
  • Black Mage (Hard, Extreme)
  • Chosen Seren (Normal, Hard, Extreme)
  • Kalos the Guardian (Chaos)
  • Kaling (Normal)

Note that you can only hold 20 Sol Erda at once. Once you have 20 Sol Erda, Sol Erda and Sol Erda Energy will no longer drop. Make sure to use them so nothing is wasted.

When hunting for Sol Erda Energy you should try to have as much drop rate as possible since it will help you get more. You can typically expect 900-1000 Sol Erda Energy and 13-14 Sol Erda Fragments per hour on 200% drop rate

How To Get Sol Erda Fragments

Sol Erda Fragments can be acquired from Daily Quest, and Monsters in Sacred Power areas.

The daily quest when completed gives 600 Sol Erda Energy and 12 Sol Erda Fragments. If you plan to do the daily quest on multiple characters it is important to know that Sol Erda Fragments are only given out 1 time to the 1st character that completed the quest. All the other characters will just receive Sol Erda Energy for that day.

The other thing that Sol Erda and Sol Erda Fragments are used for is Hexa Stats.

How To Do Hexa Stat

Hexa Stat is an RNG system where you can get more stats. You’ll see 6 Hexa Stat Nodes, on launch only 1 will be available and more will come with further updates.

To activate the Stat node you’ll need 5 Sol Erda and 10 Sol Erda Fragments. You will also need to select what you want to boost. You’ll get 3 options consisting of Main Stat, and 2 additional stats

The options you have to choose from are,

  • Critical Damage %
  • Boss Damage %
  • Ignore Monster Defense %
  • Damage %
  • ATT/MATT %
  • Main Stat (STR/INT/LUK/DEX) %

The consensus on launch says the best thing to go for would be,

  • Main Stat – Attack/Magic Attack
  • Additional Stat – STR/DEX/INT/LUK (depending on your class)
  • Additional Stat – Boss Damage

Note that each node’s Main Stat has to be unique. So if you have ATT on one Hexa Stat node then then other Hexa Stat Nodes cannot get ATT and you’ll have to choose something else. (Similar to V Matrix Boost Nodes)

Additional Stats however can appear twice on 2 different nodes. On the 3rd you will not be allowed to select it. On launch you will only have access to 1 so less to think about initially but, eventually they will come out with more and this will apply.

Once you activate it you’ll see something like this,

In order to enhance your STATS you’ll have to pay Sol Erda Fragments. Afterwards you’ll see a before and after on the STAT that changed. This is an RNG system and you can see the chance of leveling up where it says Enhancement Rate. Each stat line has a maximum level of 10 and once you reach a combination of levels that equal 20, that node is maxed. For example, 10, 5, 5 or 9, 4, 7.

When you reach a cumulative level of 10 you’ll have the option to reset and start over with the same STAT selection. Ideally you want your Main STAT to go to level 10 so if you get some trash rolls in the beginning you’ll be able to start over. It will cost 10 million meso.

Main Stat values are double what they would be if it was in additional Stat. For example,

  • Level 10 ATT Main Stat = +100
  • Level 10 ATT Additional Stat = 50

This is why it is important to try to get Main Stat to level 10. When all the Hexa Stat nodes are unlocked you’ll be able to max out everything. These are the max values you can achieve with Main Stat.

  • Critical Damage: +7%
  • Boss Damage: +20%
  • Ignore Monster DEF: +20%
  • Damage: +15%
  • ATT/MATT: +100
  • Main Stat (STR/DEX/INT/LUK/HP): +2000 (Demon Avenger: MAX HP +42,000)(Xenon: All Stat +960)

Additional Stat maximums are half of the Main Stat ones. So +10% Boss damage at level 10 instead of +20%.

ATT/MATT are affected by % lines while Primary Stat is just a flat bonus.

If you want to completely reset your node and choose different Main Stat and Additional Stat press CHANGE STATS next to ENHANCE and it will cost you 100 million meso

Once you reach a cumulative level of 20 you have the option to save that Stat node to a preset and work on a different one. This is so that if you have something good but want to try your luck for something better you can, without giving up all your past progress. It does not cost anything to swap between presets.

Since there is RNG involved and Sol Erda Fragments aren’t the easiest to acquire you’ll generally want to focus more on your HEXA SKILLS.

When to Start Hexa Stat

Hexa Stat requires a lot of Sol Erda to activate but once you activate it, it will only require Fragments. In the Reboot server it is not easy to obtain fragments since there aren’t many sources. So, you should only start your Hexa Stat once it gives you a bigger benefit compared to leveling your Hexa Skills.

While you should ideally want level 10/10/0 or 10/5/5 for Main Stat/Additional/Additional Stat, this is incredibly hard to obtain. These ideal combinations will cost over 100k fragments of rerolling and resetting.

What you want to do instead is just get any mix of levels to level 20. For your first Hexa Stat node you’ll want ATT/Primary Stat/(Boss Dmg or Crit Dmg). Getting this combination in any iteration will at least give you a 3-4% final damage gain. You can save this node as a preset, then work on another one when you have more materials and gamble for perfection there.

Also consider swapping around the order of the Stats so that you get the biggest ATT/MATT bonus. For example, if you have an Additional stat at level 8 but Main Stat only level 1 then you want to move your ATT/MATT to the Additional Stat.

This will also tell you when to start working on your Hexa Stat by comparing the gains with Hexa Skills. It is different for each class and I will have a Hexa Skill priority build with a Hexa Stat starting point soon.

It has been estimated that to max your entire Hexa Skill Matrix, it will take around 1,000 hours. This doesn’t include stuff like Daily Quest, Event Shops, and future changes so don’t view it as an absolute number. MapleStory is a grindy game and isn’t meant to be finished so hopefully you don’t rush things and burn yourself out.

Where To Start Your HEXA MATRIX

The first thing you want to do after you unlock your HEXA Matrix is to do the daily quest and farm enough to unlock your other Mastery and Boost nodes. HEXA Skill will give you less Final Damage compared to getting your Hexa Skills up first.

HEXA Stat is RNG based so it will be worthwhile to work on your mastery and skill nodes till a certain level before you start rolling on your HEXA stats.

All you need to do everyday is the daily quest and farm/grind if you want to acquire more Sol Erda Energy and Fragments. Then use them to level up your skills and stats and get super strong. Guides for Hexa Matrix Priority list coming soon.
