Pokémon Masters: Battle Villa Guide

It’s finally here! The much anticipated Battle Villa is now available to players. This challenge isn’t meant to be taken lightly. Players will have to use their wit to win. So turn off that Auto mode and let’s get into it.

The key to victory is to choose your sync pairs wisely, check out Boss Details before entering a stage, and use the quit strategy! Continue reading for more details.

Battle Villa Tips

  1. Sync pair limit – There’s a limit of nine sync pairs that you can bring to the Battle Villa each day. So choose them wisely!
  2. Limited HP and MP is only daily – Once you win or lose a battle, the HP and MP of your sync pairs will remain the same until the daily reset (1:00 a.m. EST). Additionally, your opponents’ HP will remain the same throughout the entire period.
  3. Turn off Auto Mode and lower your speed – This is the most important thing. You shouldn’t Auto-battle your way through Battle Villa. The reason is, the AI uses up your buffs when it’s not really necessary (see tip above). Also, you may want to lower your speed to give yourself more time to think between moves.
  4. Quit often – Quitting is actually a strategy because you’ll be reset to before you entered the stage. This means you get another chance to get the outcome you want and you’ll have a chance to change up your lineup without using up the nine sync pair limit.
  5. Mistakes are okay – There’s plenty of time to go through the halls of the Battle Villa. With nine sync pairs daily (with HP and MP refreshed) you’ll definitely reach the top.

Strategy

Since there’s a daily sync pair limit, you’ll want to choose them carefully. For the current Battle Villa (02/28/20 – 03/16/20) you’ll notice that the early halls are very easy. These halls can be cleared with almost any decent Strike sync pair, but keep in mind the later halls you want to hit for the day. You’ll need type-effective moves and perhaps a decent tank.

It’s important to check Area Details before entering the stage and checking out Boss Details for weaknesses and what to watch out for.

For Halls 1 to 5, here are a couple sync pair choices, ordered roughly in effectiveness:

  • Pryce & Dewgong
  • Rosa & Serperior
  • Player & Torchic
  • Cynthia & Garchomp
  • Olivia & Lycanroc
  • Kris & Feraligator
  • Player & Pikachu
  • Hau & Raichu
  • Phoebe & Dusclops

Keep in mind the limited MP also! I suggest saving your buffs for Halls 4 and 5. You can clear 1 to 3 easily without using any buffs.

For Halls 6 to 10:

  • Player & Solgaleo
  • Rosa & Serperior
  • Player & Torchic (can’t stack with Solgaleo, unfortunately)
  • Korrina & Lucario
  • Steven & Metagross
  • Cynthia & Garchomp
  • SS Red & Charizard
  • SS Elesa & Rotom
  • Karen & Houndoom

When the day is about to end, you’ll want to use up all your remaining power left to chip away at the HP of your opponents because their HP will remain the same even after the daily reset.

To sum it up, you’ll want a daily goal to reach with a team of nine sync pairs. Choose them wisely for the target hall you want to hit. Also, reread the five tips section just in case you missed anything.
