Night Lord Best Skill Build MapleStory

Night Lord is one of the best classes in the game. It excels at bossing and great at mobbing since it has a skill that gives extra EXP and Drop Rate. Whether making it as a boss mule or a main you can’t really go wrong.

Rouge 1st Job Skill Build

  • Lucky Seven (+1)
  • Flash Jump (MAX)
  • Haste (MAX)
  • Nimble Body (MAX)
  • Lucky Seven (MAX)
  • Double Stab (MAX)
  • Dark Sight (MAX)

Rouge 1st Job Skill Explanation

When making a NL you’ll want to stick with Lucky Seven for mobbing and forget about Double Stab unless you want to save a small amount of meso and use a dagger for 1st job.

Dark Sight is a very important skill when it comes to bossing. It lets you ignore a lot of stuff in boss fights, specifically things that fall from the sky that would normally damage or debuff you.

If you’re a beginner you’ll want to pick up some decent throwing stars. The easiest would be to go to Henesys General Store, talk to Luna and buy Ilbi Throwing Stars for 3 mil. Don’t buy too many since you’ll get a skill in 3rd job that gives you unlimited stars.

If you’ve already got an established account you can prep the best throwing stars by doing Phantom Forest, buying Balanced Fury and putting them in the storage for your NL. Remember you only need 1 set.

Quad Star is your main bossing skill. Single target and goes for the highest HP enemy.

Showdown is your main mobbing skill with a lot of good effects. Using it will give you extra EXP and DROP rate which is great for farming and also useful for breaking boss boxes. It also applies an effect called Untouchable. This makes it so that enemies don’t cause touch damage. Always keep this debuff on bosses so that when you pass by or get near them you won’t take any damage.

Frailty Curse is a summon skill that debuffs enemies and lowers their Attack, Defense, and Speed. Very good while bossing but, make sure to get the Hyper Skill Frailty Curse – Boss Rush or else it will not work on bosses

Sudden Raid is a short cooldown small burst type skill. Useful to help you mob since it has good range and for dealing a bit of extra damage while bossing.

You’ll be using Quad Star for bossing and Showdown for mobbing forever.

Night Lord 5th Job Skills

When you reach level 200 you’ll get access to your V Matrix and new 5th job skills. The best way to level them up is through Nodestones and Experience nodes. Night Lord V Skills are in order of importance are, Throw Blasting, Throwing Star Barrage, Dark Lord’s Omen, and Shurrikane.

Night Lord 5th Job Skill Explanation

Night Lord has a lot of 5th job skills you activate and it will passively help you deal more damage. Because Night Lord has one of the best bursts in the game, it is very important that you get it right and get all your damage off.

Night Lord Perfect Trio Nodes

In the V Matrix you’ll also have Boost Nodes. They are there to level up your 1st – 4th job skills past their initial cap. You’ll want to level up the most useful skills for your class and those will form your perfect trios.

For Night Lord these are the perfect nodes you’ll want to look for,

Primary NodeSecondary Node

Showdown

Sudden Raid

Quad Star

Death Star

Assassin’s Mark

Dark Flare

If you’re making a NL main you’ll want both the primary and the secondary node. If you’re making a boss mule you will only need the Primary node.

An explanation of perfect trios and full list of all classes and their perfect trio nodes here.

All Useful 5th Job Skills for Night Lord

These are all the skills you’ll need to get the most out of Night Lord. Any other skills are not useful and can be disassembled.

Do not level up your Decent skills past level 1 unless you’re at the end game and min/maxing to get an extra 5 stat at max level. At level 1 all your decent skills have 100% uptime since the duration will be longer than the cooldown. Holy Symbol is the only exception since you’ll get more exp and drop rate as you level it.

Decent Sharp Eyes

Decent Combat Orders

Decent Speed Infusion

Last Resort

Maple World Goddess’s Blessing

Erda Nova

Decent Holy Symbol

Shadow Walker

Blink

Decent Advanced Blessing

Will Of Erda

Erda Shower

Venom Burst

Rope Lift

True Arachnid Reflection (Obtained from Will boss)

Solar Crest (Obtained from Seren boss)

The ones that are underlined and bolded are not necessary if making a boss mule.

Night Lord 5th Job V Matrix Node Slot Priority

This is the order of what skills you should equip first,

  • Boost Nodes, Level 1 Decent Sharp Eyes + Decent Speed Infusion
  • Throw Blasting
  • Throwing Star Barrage
  • Last Resort, Shadow Walker (bossing) or Erda Shower, Decent Holy Symbol (mobbing)
  • Erda Nova, Maple World Goddess’s Blessing, Level 1 Decent Combat Orders
  • Dark Lord’s Omen, Shurrikane

Maxing the skills in this order (except decents) is also ideal for bossing but if you want to get better training rates I would suggest putting more focus on Boost Nodes, Decent Holy Symbol, and Erda Shower.

Night Lord 6th Job HEXA Skills

The HEXA matrix is split up into Skill Node (6th job Origin skill), Mastery Node (enhances 4th job skills), Boost Node (5th job enhancement), and Common Node (Job specific skills)

You’ll get your 1st Origin skill for free once you finish the quest line and the rest you’ll have to unlock yourself. Link to a Guide for HEXA Matrix so that you’ll have the best start possible.

6th Job Night Lord HEXA Skill Priority

When starting your HEXA Matrix you’ll want to unlock everything then start putting focus on depending on if you’re a solo progression player or a party player.

If you’re a party player you’ll want to focus on your burst and getting that as high as possible. Especially important in late/end game bosses. For Night Lord the most important skill to prio is Throw Blasting.

If you’re a solo progression player there are infographics online and in the Night Lord discord that you can follow.

6th Job Night Lord HEXA Stat Priority

For Night Lord, your 1st HEXA stat node, you’ll want

  • Main Stat: Attack
  • Additional Stat: STAT
  • Additional Stat: Critical Damage

HEXA stat is an RNG type system and it doesn’t matter what you get in the beginning since it is not worth it to reroll until your entire 6th job is maxed. Once it gets to level 20 leave it there and no matter what you got it would still be at least a 2-3% FD gain.

Ideally, you want 10/10/0 but that is very costly and you shouldn’t try to go for unless you have an excess of fragments or everything is done.
