Mercedes is one of the best combo classes in the game. She excels at her big burst damage and her mobility. Great for party bosses as well since she has some good debuffs and buffs. This is a class that rewards you greatly for the time you put in to learn the combos. It can seem bad at first but that is only because you aren’t playing it to its full potential.

Merc can reach max Attack Speed with just Green Pot (Monster Park) and Decent Speed Infusion. Even though her main burst skills are hurricane type skills you’ll really feel the Attack Speed difference while comboing. For a bossing mule you’ll do the same setup except you only need the Primary Node and Secondary Node, can settle for less boss damage, and have Abso/Arcane Gear.

Mercedes 1st Job Skill Explanation
Merc 1st job is easy just use Swift Dual Shot to mob and Spirit Jump to get to mobs. There is a beginner skill called Updraft, it lets you quickly move up ladders and rope by pressing Up Arrow Key + Jump while hanging on. Very fun and useful skill.

Mercedes 2nd Job Skill Explanation
Merc 2nd job is where you’ll get an introduction to some combos. Rising Rush and Parting Shot are the notable skills.
Rising Rush is a skill that launches mobs into the air which then can be linked with another skill. This is a skill that will be useful even at end game so make sure to keep it on your keyboard and use it.
Parting Shot fires arrows at mobs that were launched in the air by Rising Rush. Not used after 2nd job since there are better options.
You’ll be using Piercing Storm, Rising Rush, and Parting Shot to mob till 3rd job. If feeling lazy or only making it as a link/legion character, then just use Piercing Storm to mob.

Mercedes 3rd Job Skill Build Explanation
Merc notable 3rd job skills are, Leap Tornado, Unicorn Spike, Gust Dive, Water Shield, Aerial Barrage, and Ignis Roar.
Leap Tornado is a core skill used for both mobbing and bossing. Must be in the air to use and links to other combo skills.
Unicorn Spike is a bossing skill that is used to debuff enemies. Make sure to always have the debuff applied while bossing.
Gust Dive is a situational combo skill that you use in the air to bring you quickly to the ground white dealing damage. It also has Super Stance which means you can’t be knocked back while using the skill.
Water Shield is an I-Frame (invincible) skill mainly used to setup burst, while bursting, or to get yourself out of a sticky situation.
Aerial Barrage is a combo skill that is mainly used for aerial combos. When used after Rising Rush it brings you into the air where you can link other skills. Situational since the standard combo is much easier to use than the aerial one.
Ignis Roar is the reason you want to combo skills and not just spam 1 of them. It gives you stackable FD while you are linking skills and comboing.
You’ll be using Stunning Strikes and Leap Tornado to mob until 4th job. If feeling lazy or only making it as a link/legion character, then just use Stunning Strikes to mob.

Mercedes 4th Job Skill Explanation
Merc 4th job is where you’ll get the rest of your main combos. Notable skills are Ishtar’s Ring, Spikes Royale, Lightning Edge, Rolling Moonsault, and Spirit Nimble Flight.
Ishtar’s Ring is a hurricane skill that is mainly used for bossing. Doing certain combos while bossing will do higher damage on burst but it is good for when stuff is on cooldown.
Spikes Royale is a skill that reduces enemy defense and lets you stay in the air for a little bit. Make sure debuff is always applied and used right away when entering a boss.
Lightning Edge is a dash skill that has some super stance.
Rolling Moonsault is a skill that spots you in the air, deals damage and resets your cooldown. If you use up jump it will not reset that.
Spirit Nimble Flight is a teleport skill but can only be used in the air and after another skill. If you press Lightning Edge and Spirit Nimble Flight + Up Arrow Key you can instantly go upwards. It cancels the previous skill so the faster you press it the quicker you’ll teleport.
For mobbing you’ll mainly be using Leap Tornado, Spikes Royale, Wrath of Enlil and Stunning Strikes. You can weave in the other skills but Leap Tornado is your best bet. For bossing you’ll want to use the combos below or just hold Ishtar’s Ring if you’re really lazy and are forced to boss.

- Water Shield – True Immunity 1 (if you have problem with stun balls and status get this one)

Wrath of Enlil is a great skill for bossing and mobbing. For bosses it applies a debuff that makes them untouchable. This means you’ll be able to stand near/on them without taking damage while it’s debuffed. It also has good range and damage.
Heroic Memories is an active buff mainly used for bursting.
Elvish Blessing is a no cooldown active buff. Make sure it is always active and you can put it on a pet for auto buff.
For a main you’ll want to take Spikes Royale – Temper Link and Ishtar’s Ring – Guardbreak. If you’re a Merc main you should be comfortable using the combos all the time for highest dps and be able to know your class well enough to dodge attacks/statuses. With 6th job you’ll want to use Ishtar’s Ring more.
For a bossing mule you’ll want Ishtar’s Ring – Guardbreak and Spikes Royale – Reinforce. Less combo heavy and intensive picks.
Mercedes 5th Job Skills
When you reach level 200 you’ll get access to your V Matrix and new 5th job skills. The best way to level them up is through Nodestones and Experience nodes. Mercedes V Skills are in order of importance are Spirit of Elluel, Irkalla’s Wrath, Royal Knights, and Sylvidia’s Flight.

Mercedes Perfect Trio Nodes
In the V Matrix you’ll also have Boost Nodes. They are there to level up your 1st – 4th job skills past their initial cap. You’ll want to level up the most useful skills for your class and those will form your perfect trios.

These are all the skills you’ll need to get the most out of Merc. Any other skills are not useful and can be disassembled.
Do not level up your Decent skills past level 1 unless you’re at the end game and min/maxing to get an extra 5 stat at max level. At level 1 all your decent skills have 100% uptime since the duration will be longer than the cooldown. Holy Symbol is the only exception since you’ll get more exp and drop rate as you level it.

Mercedes 5th Job V Matrix Node Slot Priority
This is the order of what skills you should equip first,

Maxing the skills in this order (except decents) is also ideal for bossing but if you want to get better training rates I would suggest putting more focus on Boost Nodes, Decent Holy Symbol, Guided Arrow, and Erda Shower.
Mercedes 6th Job HEXA Skills
The HEXA matrix is split up into Skill Node (6th job Origin skill), Mastery Node (enhances 4th job skills), Boost Node (5th job enhancement), and Common Node (Job specific skills)
You’ll get your 1st Origin skill for free once you finish the quest line and the rest you’ll have to unlock yourself. Link to a Guide for HEXA Matrix so that you’ll have the best start possible.

6th Job Mercedes HEXA Skill Priority
When starting your HEXA Matrix you’ll want to unlock everything then start putting focus on depending on if you’re a solo progression player or a party player.
If you’re a party player you’ll want to focus on your burst and getting that as high as possible. Especially important in late/end game bosses. For Merc you’ll want to prio Spirit of Elluel and Unfading Glory.
If you’re a solo progression player there are infographics online and in the Mercedes discord that you can follow.
6th Job Mercedes HEXA Stat Priority
For Merc, your 1st HEXA stat node, you’ll want
- Main Stat: Attack
- Additional Stat: STAT
- Additional Stat: Critical Damage
HEXA stat is an RNG type system and it doesn’t matter what you get in the beginning since it is not worth it to reroll until your entire 6th job is maxed. Once it gets to level 20 leave it there and no matter what you got it would still be at least a 2-3% FD gain.
Ideally, you want 10/10/0 but that is very costly and you shouldn’t try to go for unless you have an excess of fragments or everything is done.
