Lara has amazing mobbing and ok bossing. She also has a bit of support but nothing too crazy. If you’re looking for a class with lots of summons and really good mobbing then Lara is a good choice.

Does it benefit from max Attack speed | No | |
2 min or 3 min burst type? | 3 min |
Lara does not need max attack speed but using Decent Speed Infusion and Green Pot will help you deal a bit more damage and feel slightly more smooth.
Since Lara is a summons based class and summons don’t get affected by Attack Speed, the only skill that AS will be useful for is Essence Sprinkle. With all those buffs you’ll be missing 1 level of Attack Speed which can be made up for in the Inner Ability but it’s not worth it since Passive Skills +1 is much better overall for damage.
Lara only really shines in mobbing so I do not recommend making one as a boss mule unless you like playing it. There are much better options and you would have to fund this class a bit more for good clear times.

Essence Sprinkle is what you’ll attack with once your summons are out and it is your main spammable attacking skill.
Jump for Joy! Unlike other mages you get a flash jump skill. You could press jump twice to activate but putting this on a key and using that to flash jump is faster and with less air time.
Peerless Mountain takes a portion of the damage you will receive and instead of HP, it will take MP instead. Like Magic Guard if you’ve played other mage classes. Make sure to keep this toggled on.
Essence Sprinkle will be your main spammable skill for mobbing/bossing forever. It will get boosted with each job advancement.

Lara 2nd Job Skill Explanation
This is where Lara gets her key skills that define the class. Once you toggle on Dragon Vein Reading you’ll see veins of different colors on the map and each one does a different thing.
Lara 2nd job notable skills are, Dragon Vein Reading, Dragon Vein Eruption, Eruption Heaving River, Whirlwind, Sunrise Well, Mountain Seeds, and Wand Booster.
Dragon Vein Reading is an important toggle skill that allows you to see Dragon Veins. Make sure this is always turned on. You can see what the veins look like in the above image.
Dragon Vein Eruption is an active skill that you use to activate the Dragon Vein. Make sure to have this on an easy to reach key so that you can always keep 100% uptime on your summons. There will be a different summon depending on the color of the vein
Eruption: Heaving River is when you use Dragon Vein Eruption on a blue vein. It will summon a River spirit to attack for 16 secs
Eruption: Whirlwind is when you use Dragon Vein Eruption on a green vein. It will summon a long tornado that has good vertical reach
Eruption: Sunrise Well is when you use Dragon Vein Eruption on a yellow vein. It will summon volcanic bombs that deal damage in a flat area
Mountain Seeds is a skill that helps you deal more damage when you use your Eruption skill. It is recommended to keep this on Auto Mode by right clicking the skill in the skill window. Basically becomes a passive that helps you attack.
Wand Booster is an active buff skill for Attack Speed. Make sure to keep 100% uptime since it has no cooldown. You can place this buff on a pet that has Auto Buff so that you never have to worry about it.
Your main and best way to mob will be to use your Eruption Summons to cover areas of the map. Using Eruption in bosses will also be the best way to deal the most damage.

Lara 3rd Job Skill Build Explanation
Lara’s 3rd job is where you’ll get most of your support and utility skills. Notable skills are Manifestation: Where the River Courses, Wind Swing, Sunlight-Filled Ground, Wakeup Call, and Dragon Vein Traces.
Manifestation: Where the River Courses creates a river which you can use to travel between 2 points. Only potentially useful while mobbing but even then, you don’t have to use it.
Manifestation: Wind Swing creates an area of wind which gives you and your party Attack Speed +1, Speed and Jump +20 buff. You can also use the zone to float for a bit. It helps you use Essence Sprinkle faster and can be beneficial for your party so try to keep this buff up.
Manifestation: Sunlight-Filled Ground creates an area where you and your party get a Damage and Healing buff. Very important while bossing so try to keep this buff up as much as you can.
Wakeup Call is a skill that absorbs a vein and then summons arrows which fly towards enemies. Not the best damage wise but it can be useful for its 100% knockback resistance during casting animation.
Dragon Vein Traces is a skill that is used to teleport to veins. Very useful in stuff like Phase 1 Lotus lasers or other situations where you need an instant teleport. It can only be used to teleport to veins so you need to have them prepped in advance.

Lara 4th Job Skill Explanation
Lara’s 4th job is all about her Absorption skills. Notable skills are Dragon Vein Absorption, Absorption: River Puddle Douse, Fierce Wind, Sunlit Grain, Dragon Vein Conversion, and Mountain Embrace.
Dragon Vein Absorption is the skill you’ll use to remove a vein and absorb its attributes. All the absorptions will help you do damage passively alongside your Essence Sprinkle skill for a duration. You can absorb all 3 different attributes at once. You cannot use Eruption and Absorption at the same time. If you have an Eruption Whirlwind out and you use Absorption: Fierce Wind, Whirlwind will disappear.
Absorption: River Puddle Douse is when you absorb a blue vein. Afterwards, when you use Essence Sprinkle a River Spirit will appear and attack enemies alongside you.
Absorption: Fierce Wind is when you absorb a green vein. Afterwards, when you use Essence Sprinkle a Wind Spirit will appear and attack enemies alongside you.
Absorption: Sunlit Grain is when you absorb a yellow vein. Afterwards, when you use Essence Sprinkle a Sun Spirit will appear and attack enemies alongside you.
Dragon Vein Conversion is a skill you use to change a vein you’re standing near to a different attribute of your choice. Up = Yellow, Right = Green, Left = Blue.
Mountain Embrace is a damage reduction skill. Not a real I-Frame but it can still get you out of a lot of sticky situations.
Lara is currently in a weird spot where a lot of her absorption skills aren’t good enough to use. It is almost always better to use Eruption skills while mobbing or bossing.
For mobbing you can use Absorption: Sunlit Grain + Eruption Heaving River and Whirlwind on smaller maps but for big maps you want to use all Eruption summons.
For bossing, keeping 100% uptime on the Eruption summons will give you the highest damage. But in some situations where the boss moves a lot and you don’t want to keep up Eruption, you can use Absorption.
Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |

Lara Hyper Skill Build
Lara has 3 must have hyper passives and the last 2 are optional depending on mobbing, bossing, or utility.
Must Have Passives
- Eruption/Absorption – Reinforce
- Eruption/Absorption – Boss Rush
- Essence Sprinkle – Boss Rush
Optional Passives
- Mountain Embrace – Extra Shield (bossing/utility)
- Dragon Vein – Enhance (bossing/utility)
- Eruption/Absorption – Guardbreak (bossing)
- Mountain Seeds – Reinforce (mobbing)
Actives
- Unconstrained Dragon Vein
- Vine Coil
- Arbor Away
Unconstrained Dragon Vein is an active skill that creates a vein without any attribute. Using Eruption or Absorption will then let you choose the attribute you want it to have. Great for replacing summons where you want or even have a desired teleport spot
Vine Coil is your bind skill. Mainly for bossing where you need the boss to stay still while you get off all your burst.
Arbor Away is your big buff skill. It summons a giant bubble area where you get Boss Damage, Critical Damage, Status Clearing, and 100% knockback resistance while in the area. Try to summon it so that the boss is also touching the bubble area to reduce its defense.
Personally, for hyper skills, if I was a main I would go with Mountain Embrace – Extra Shield and Mountain Seeds – Reinforce. If I was making a boss mule I’d go with Eruption/Absorption – Guardbreak and Dragon Vein – Enhance.
Lara 5th Job Skills
When you reach level 200 you’ll get access to your V Matrix and new 5th job skills. The best way to level them up is through Nodestones and Experience nodes. Lara V Skills are in order of importance are, Land’s Connection, Big Stretch, Winding Mountain Ridge, and Surging Essence.
Lara 5th Job Skill Explanation
Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |
Big Stretch | MP Cost: 500 Awaken 5 Dragon Vein(s) within a certain range around another Dragon Vein Each awakened Dragon Vein creates 7 intangible force(s) Intangible Force Damage: 1320%, Number of Attacks: 5 If several intangible forces hit a single enemy, Final Damage for the second force and onwards: -30% Cooldown: 60 sec Cooldown if awakened Dragon Vein count is less than the max number that can be awakened: -12 sec for each Dragon Vein that could be awakened | Mini Burst Skill (takes up to 5 veins and summons arrows from them to deal damage) (when bossing always try to activate with 5 veins nearby) |
Land’s Connection | MP Cost: 1200, Land spirits appear in the order of Mountain, River, Wind, and Sunlight, shocking enemies with 1850% Damage 3 time(s) Number of Attacks: 10, Max Enemies Hit: 10 Afterwards, activates explosion with 2245% Damage 15 time(s), Number of Attacks: 7, Max Enemies Hit: 10 Cooldown: 180 sec | Big Burst Skill (your most hard hitting skill and what you want to land after your big buffs and bind) |
Surging Essence | MP Cost: 80, Shock enemies with 1500% Damage 6 time(s), Number of Attacks: 8, Max Enemies Hit: 10 Cooldown: 20 sec | Low Cooldown Mini Burst Attack (short cooldown and should be used whenever it’s up while bossing) |
Winding Mountain Ridge | MP Cost: 500 Summons 3 group(s) of Mountain Spirits within a certain range Once summoned, they periodically run at enemies to attack Group Summon Duration: 30 sec Max Enemies Hit: 6, Damage: 660%, Number of Attacks: 4 Running into enemies decreases running speed Max Number of Attacks: 20 per group Cooldown: 60 sec | Mini Burst Skill (summons mountain spirits which run on a platform till the duration is up) |
Lara Perfect Trio Nodes
In the V Matrix you’ll also have Boost Nodes. They are there to level up your 1st – 4th job skills past their initial cap. You’ll want to level up the most useful skills for your class and those will form your perfect trios.
For Lara these are the perfect nodes you’ll want to look for,
Primary Node | Secondary Node |
Dragon Vein Eruption | Dragon Vein Absorption |
Mountain Kid | Mountain Seeds |
Essence Sprinkle | Wakeup Call |
If you’re making a main you’ll want both Primary and Secondary. I would not suggest making a Lara boss mule since there are better options out there and you would have to fund it more in order to get good clear times above Lomein.
If you do make one for a boss mule you could get away with just the Primary but it would be better to get both.
An explanation of perfect trios and full list of all classes and their perfect trio nodes here.
All Useful 5th Job Skills for Lara
These are all the skills you’ll need to get the most out of Lara. Any other skills are not useful and can be disassembled.
Do not level up your Decent skills past level 1 unless you’re at the end game and min/maxing to get an extra 5 stat at max level. At level 1 all your decent skills have 100% uptime since the duration will be longer than the cooldown. Holy Symbol is the only exception since you’ll get more exp and drop rate as you level it.
Decent Sharp Eyes |
Decent Combat Orders |
Decent Speed Infusion |
Weapon Aura |
Grandis Goddess’s Blessing |
Mana Overload |
Decent Holy Symbol |
Blink |
Erda Nova |
Decent Advanced Blessing |
Will Of Erda |
Erda Shower |
Lotus Flower |
Ethereal Form |
Rope Lift |
True Arachnid Reflection (Obtained from Will boss) |
Solar Crest (Obtained from Seren boss) |
The ones that are underlined and bolded are not necessary if making a boss mule.
Lara 5th Job V Matrix Node Slot Priority
This is the order of what skills you should equip first,
- Boost nodes, Level 1 Decent Sharp Eyes, Erda Shower + Decent Holy Symbol (while mobbing)
- Land’s Connection, Big Stretch, Winding Mountain Ridge, Surging Essence
- Grandis Goddess’s Blessing, Level 1 Decent Combat Orders, Mana Overload
- Rest is preference like Decent Speed Infusion, Blink, Rope Lift, Ethereal Form
Maxing the skills in this order (except decents) is also ideal for bossing but if you want to get better training rates I would suggest putting more focus on Boost Nodes, Decent Holy Symbol, and Erda Shower.
Lara 6th Job HEXA Skills
The HEXA matrix is split up into Skill Node (6th job Origin skill), Mastery Node (enhances 4th job skills), Boost Node (5th job enhancement), and Common Node (Job specific skills)
You’ll get your 1st Origin skill for free once you finish the quest line and the rest you’ll have to unlock yourself. Link to a Guide for HEXA Matrix so that you’ll have the best start possible.

6th Job Lara HEXA Skill Priority
When starting your HEXA Matrix you’ll want to unlock everything then start putting focus on depending on if you’re a solo progression player or a party player.
If you’re a party player you’ll want to focus on your burst and getting that as high as possible. Especially important in late/end game bosses. For Lara you’ll want to prio Universe in Bloom, HEXA Dragon Vein Eruption, and Land’s Connection.
If you’re a solo progression player there are infographics online and in the Lara discord that you can follow.
6th Job Lara HEXA Stat Priority
For Lara, your 1st HEXA stat node, you’ll want
- Main Stat: Attack
- Additional Stat: STAT
- Additional Stat: Critical Damage
HEXA stat is an RNG type system and it doesn’t matter what you get in the beginning since it is not worth it to reroll until your entire 6th job is maxed. Once it gets to level 20 leave it there and no matter what you got it would still be at least a 2-3% FD gain.
Ideally, you want 10/10/0 but that is very costly and you shouldn’t try to go for unless you have an excess of fragments or everything is done.
