Hero is one of the best classes to play. Whether it’s your main or a boss mule you can’t go wrong making this character. Hero has high damage, good survivability, and is easy to play. Also, while it doesn’t have the best mobbing, it’s not the worst so leveling won’t be much of a problem.
Best in Slot | For Mains | For Bossing Mules |
BiS Weapon | Genesis Two Handed Axe | / One Handed Sword or Two Hand Axe |
BiS Secondary | Princess No’s Medal | / Deimos Warrior Shield if One Handed Sword or Princess No’s Medal for minimal effort |
Class | Warrior | |
Shared Cash Shop | All Explorers
Legion Effect | STR +10/20/40/80/100
Link Skill | Invincible Belief – HP Recovery
Primary Stat | STR | |
Secondary Stat | DEX | |
BiS Inner Ability Top Line | +1 Attack Speed | 15-20% Boss Damage |
Does it benefit from max Attack speed | Yes | Yes |
2 min or 3 min burst type? | 2 min |
The choice between One Handed Sword or Two Handed Axe comes down to Inner Ability/Attack Speed. It, generally, costs more to roll +1 Attack Speed on your Inner Ability which you need to reach maximum Attack Speed using an Axe. The Two Handed Axe route will give you the most damage so it is ideal for mains.
If you’re making a Hero boss mule, on average, it is more cost efficient to go for One Handed Sword which gives you more Attack Speed and you can roll for 15-20% Boss Damage IA.

Crusader 3rd Job Skill Build Explanation
Hero 3rd job you’ll get a few interesting skills like Rush, Beam Blade, and Scarring Sword.
Rush is a quick grounded left or right dash. Not really useful for mobbing but great for bossing since it can quickly put you behind a boss to dodge their frontal attacks. I suggest putting 2 Rush in the skill macro so that the skill feels a bit better to use.
Beam Blade is a projectile you shoot out in any direction to help you mob or deal with boss minions. For example, Gollux phase 2 where you have to kill the little potatoes heading towards the middle.
Scarring Sword is an active buff skill that shines when paired with the passive skill, Chance Attack. Make sure to keep 100% uptime on it especially while bossing.
You’ll be using Intrepid Slash instead of Brandish as your new mobbing/bossing skill until you reach 4th job.
Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |

Ultimate Hero 4th Job Skill Explanation
4th job is where you’ll get a majority of your bossing skills and buffs like Puncture, Magic Crash, and Enrage.
Puncture is a debuff that is mainly used for bossing. Make sure this debuff is always applied to enemy bosses so that you and your party can clear faster. No real benefit while mobbing.
Magic Crash is a skill that removes a target’s buffs. Only used for bossing in situations like Pink Bean Reflect, Arkarium Reflect, Akechi Damage reduction, and others. If you remove a boss buff, it will have a period where it resists this skill so you cannot spam it.
Enrage is a toggle skill where it reduces the amount of mobs you can hit for more damage. Only use this while bossing since you’ll mainly be hitting 1 target anyways. Make sure this is not on while mobbing since it will greatly reduce the amount of mobs you can hit.
You’ll be using Raging Blow instead of Intrepid Slash as your new mobbing/bossing skill forever.
Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |
Raging Blow | MP Cost: 40, Max Enemies Hit: 8, Damage: 320%, Number of Attacks: 4, Final attack is critical Enhanced Raging Blow – Attack: 4 times, Damage: 344%, and the final two attacks are criticals Passive Effects: Beam Blade Damage +70% | Main Mobbing/Bossing Skill |

- Advanced Combo Attack – Reinforce
- Advanced Combo Attack – Boss Rush
- Advance Final Attack – Opportunity
- Raging Blow – Reinforce
- Raging Blow – Extra Strike
Active Skills
- Cry Valhalla
- Epic Adventure
- Rising Rage
This setup is best whether you’re making a main or a boss mule.
Cry Valhalla is an important part of your big burst since it gives you a lot of damage and Knockdown Immunity. For example, if this skill is active you won’t get pushed away by lotus.
Epic Adventure is an active buff mainly used for bursting.
Rising Rage is used while mobbing to hit platforms above you and dealing a little bit of extra damage while bossing.
Hero 5th Job Skill Nodes
When you reach level 200 you’ll get access to your V Matrix and new 5th job skills. The best way to level them up is through Nodestones and Experience nodes. Hero V Skills, in order of importance, are Burning Soul Blade, Instinctual Combo, Sword Illusion, Worldreaver.
5th Job Skill Node Explanation

Hero Perfect Trio Boost Nodes
In the V Matrix you’ll also have Boost Nodes. They are there to level up your 1st – 4th job skills past their initial cap. You’ll only want to level up the most useful skills for your class and those will form your perfect trios.
For Hero the perfect nodes you’ll want to look for are,
Primary Node | Secondary Node |
Raging Blow | Puncture |
Cry Valhalla | Rising Rage |
Final Attack | Beam Blade |
If you’re maining Hero you’ll want both the Primary and Secondary trios. If you’re making a boss mule you’ll only need the primary trio.
An explanation of perfect trios and full list of all classes and their perfect trio nodes here.
All Useful 5th Job Skills for Hero
These are all the skills you’ll need to get the most out of Hero. Any other skills are not useful and can be disassembled.
Do not level up your Decent skills past level 1 unless you’re at the end game and min/maxing to get an extra 5 stat at max level. At level 1 all your decent skills have 100% uptime since the duration will be longer than the cooldown. Decent Holy Symbol is the only exception since you’ll get more exp and drop rate as you level it.
Decent Sharp Eyes |
Decent Combat Orders |
Decent Speed Infusion |
Weapon Aura |
Maple World Goddess’s Blessing |
Erda Nova |
Decent Holy Symbol |
Blink |
Decent Advanced Blessing |
Will Of Erda |
Erda Shower |
Blitz Shield |
Impenetrable Skin |
Rope Lift |
True Arachnid Reflection (Obtained from Will boss) |
Solar Crest (Obtained from Seren boss) |
The ones that are underlined and bolded are not necessary if making a boss mule.
Hero 5th Job V Matrix Node Slot Priority
This is the order of what skills you should equip first,
- Primary Boost Nodes
- Level 1 Decent Sharp Eyes, Decent Combat Orders, Decent Speed Infusion, Wordreaver
- Burning Soul Blade + Instinctual Combo
- Sword Illusion
- Weapon Aura
- Maple World Goddess Blessing
- Level 20 Erda Nova
- Secondary Boost Nodes
Maxing the skills in this order (except decents) is also ideal for bossing but if you want to get better training rates I would suggest putting more focus on Boost Nodes, Decent Holy Symbol, Burning Soul Blade, and Erda Shower.
6th Job HEXA Skills
The HEXA matrix is split up into Skill Node (6th job Origin skill), Mastery Node (enhances 4th job skills), Boost Node (5th job enhancement), and Common Node (Job specific skills)
You’ll get your 1st Origin skill for free once you finish the quest line and the rest you’ll have to unlock yourself. Link to a Guide for HEXA Matrix so that you’ll have the best start possible.
Node Type | Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |
Skill Node | Spirit Calibur | MP Cost: 1200, invincible during casting Chase Cut occurs 12 times which attack up to 15 enemies with 3900% damage 14 times Cooldown: 360 sec | Big Bind and Burst Skill (This is your Origin skill which binds the boss and gives a big buff to your skills for a duration) (This bind is different than a regular bind (erda nova) which means you can use your regular bind right after your Origin bind |
Mastery Node | HEXA Raging Blow | MP Cost: 51, Max Enemies Hit: 8, Damage: 530%, Number of Attacks: 4, Final attack is always a critical hit, attack range of Burning Soul Blade normal state is increased Enhanced Raging Blow – Attack: 4 times, Damage: 590%, and the final two attacks are always critical hits, attack range of Instinctual Combo and Burning Soul Blade is increased | Passive Boost to Your Main Bossing/Mobbing Skill (changes how Raging Blow looks and gives it more range) |
Boost Node | Burning Soul Blade Boost | Burning Soul Blade Final Damage: +60% | Passive Damage Boost to Skill |
Boost Node | Instinctual Combo Boost | Instinctual Combo Final Damage: +60% | Passive Damage Boost to Skill |
Boost Node | Worldreaver Boost | Worldreaver Final Damage: +60% | Passive Damage Boost to Skill |
Boost Node | Sword Illusion Boost | Sword Illusion Final Damage: +60% | Passive Damage Boost to Skill |
6th Job Hero HEXA Skill Priority
When starting your HEXA Matrix you’ll want to unlock everything then start putting focus on depending on if you’re a solo progression player or a party player.
If you’re a party player you’ll want to focus on your burst and getting that as high as possible. Especially important in late/end game bosses. For Hero you’ll want to prio, Spirit Calibur, HEXA Raging Blow, and Instinctual Combo. So level these up evenly while leaving the rest alone till they are maxed.
Do not level Worldreaver at all. It does nothing for damage and is a waste of Sol Erda and Fragments. Strictly use the skill as an I-Frame.
If you’re a solo progression player there are infographics online and in the hero discord that you can follow.
6th Job Hero HEXA Stat Priority
For Hero, your 1st HEXA stat node, you’ll want,
- Main Stat: Attack
- Additional Stat: STAT
- Additional Stat: Critical Damage
HEXA stat is an RNG type system and it doesn’t matter what you get in the beginning since it is not worth it to reroll until your entire 6th job is maxed. Once it gets to level 20 leave it there and no matter what you got it would still be at least a 2-3% FD gain.
