Fast Profession Skills Guide – MapleStory Reboot

If you’re returning to the game and you might have a few questions like what are Professions? Or what is Alchemy, and how do I quickly raise its level? This guide will cover all that and more.

Professions are important when it comes to making gear, consumables, and even making a ton of money.

Professions

In MapleStory there are 5 Professions, Herbalism, Mining, Smithing, Accessory Crafting, and Alchemy. In Reboot you can and should learn them all as they usually require each other to do things. Go to Ardentmill and talk to everyone on the bottom floor.

Herbalism allows you to Harvest those flowers and Herbs that you see on your maps sometimes. If you want to unlock your Pocket Slot, you’ll need to learn this. For a complete guide, check Pocket Slot Guide.

Mining allows you to Harvest Veins and Heartstones that you see on maps.

Smithing is used to create equips like tops, bottoms, Android Hearts, and other stuff.

Accessory Crafting is for making rings, shoulders, pendants and more. Used mainly for rings.

Alchemy is where you create stuff like potions and other useful pots like Invincibility Potions and Wealth Potions. If you want to make money extracting gear, you’ll need to learn this.

Getting Herb/Vein Materials

If you’re wondering how to find specific drops like Marjoram Seed, check the end of the article for a list of Herbs and Veins with drops.

Gathering materials is easy when you know what you’re looking for. If you see any of those Herbs, Veins, Flowers, or Stones above, make sure you Harvest them. They appear in very active maps and drop the best stuff so it is in your best interest to Harvest them.

They drop rare stuff like Cubes, Primal Essence, Philosopher’s Stone, and Twisted Time. All these are worth a lot and can help you when it comes to getting more Mesos.

The other way to get materials is Harvest them in Secret Patches in Ardentmill. This place is located on the bottom right portal of Ardentmill. When you’re trying to level your Mining and Herbalism, it is best to start at the lower level spots so that you won’t fail as much which gives you more exp.

Random shops keepers appear as you do bosses. Occasionally, the shops will have a Suspicious Herb Pouch and Suspicious Mineral Pouch which can contain random things. If you have spare Mesos and want to level up your Alchemy by converting whatever comes out of the Pouch, this could be a nice investment.

How To Craft

If you have something you want to make, first open up your Professions window (can be found if you open your Key Bindings), then check the materials necessary to craft. After that, go and get the materials from either Veins or Herbs. When you’re done with that, go to Ardentmill and buy the other piece needed from Nack. This will be stuff like empty bottles and such. The last step is to go to the respective Profession to craft.

Let’s do an example. If you’re making Health Potions you are going to need Lemon Balm Seed Oil and Intermediate Empty Bottle. The bottle can be purchased from Nack and Lemon Balm Seed Oil can be made using Herbalism.

First you Harvest Emerald Herbs in the Secret Patch which drops Lemon Balm Seeds. Then go to Nack and buy an Intermediate Herb Bottle.

Then stand near Saffron, Master of Herbalism, until you’re able to Craft.

Once the button is not gray and green, craft the item. Make 3 of them like the Health Potion recipe requires and then go buy the other bottles from Nack. Once bought go find Ally who is the Master of Alchemy on the bottom left and craft the Health Potions.

Fastest Way To Train Professions

The most important thing to keep in mind when training your profession is your fatigue. If you are at max fatigue you cannot do any Extracting, or Crafting

The two most important professions are Herbalism and Mining. This is because in order to Smith, Craft, or do Alchemy, you need to get the base materials which Herbalism and Mining will get you.

When it comes to training Herbalism, and Mining, the best thing to do is to go out there and Harvest. If you’re not training or doing anything, go into the Ardentmill Secret Herb Patch and Harvest at your level. Another thing you can do is cycle through popular maps and keep CCing until you find Mysterious (Legendary) Veins and Herbs.

Now when it comes to training the other 3 professions it is a bit more tricky. If you want them at high levels you are going to have to craft a lot of stuff. The quickest way is to focus on using all your fatigue gathering Materials and once your Fatigue resets or you recover, go and craft items which should level you up quickly.

For example, these are the steps I took to quickly raise my Alchemy level higher.

  • Farm Silver and Magenta Herbs in the Novice Secret Herb Patch till I was at max Fatigue
  • At reset, craft Marjoram Seed Oil, Marjoram Flower Oil, Lavender Seed Oil, and Lavender Flower Oil using Saffron.
  • Then buy the necessary bottles from Nack and stand near Ally to craft all pots available.

Try to craft one at a time. In order to level up your profession you need to talk to the master of that profession. Crafting stuff while at max mastery will not give you any exp till you go on to the next level. This is why you craft one at a time, so you don’t waste any Fatigue.

How To Lower Fatigue

There are 3 ways to lower Fatigue. First, your Fatigue drops by 20 every hour. Second, the Cash Shop has a Fatigue Potion which resets your Fatigue. Lastly, every reset or maintenance your Fatigue goes to 0 no matter where it was before.
