Epic Seven: Friendship – What Does It Do?

There are two different types of “friendships” in Epic Seven. One is a measure of how close you are to your heroes (how often you use them) and one is currency obtained from using supporters of other people (or others using your supporters). What exactly do each of these friendships do?

Hero Friendship allows you to unlock expressions and voice lines. Friendship Points, which are acquired through using your friends’ supporters or strangers’ supporters, are used for getting 2 fodder, 1 and 2artifacts, Energy, and Flags.

Hero Friendship

Hero Friendship has a max level of 10. At certain points, you’ll unlock expressions that you can use to change a character’s appearance when you browse your list of heroes. Typically, a hero gets a new expression every even level (that’s levels 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10). So, that’s a total of six expressions including the Normal expression. Some heroes like the 3★ Pearlhorizon have less than six expressions (skips Lv. 2), and some heroes like Luna have more than six expressions (I see you Smilegate, pandering to fans).

Voices are unlocked at levels 3, 5, and 7. At Lv. 3, Normal voices are unlocked, which include soundbites like Level Up, Victory, and Death. At Lv. 5, Skill voices are unlocked, and finally, at Lv. 7, Camp voices are unlocked.

As you can see Hero Friendship isn’t completely necessary, being reserved for those who want to customize their favorite Waifus and Husbandos. Or perhaps for them to hear their sweet voices.

What’s the fastest way to level up Hero Friendship?

For certain Connections, getting a hero’s Friendship level up is a requirement. You can gradually get a hero’s Friendship level up by completing stages. To level it up quickly, do Adventure stage 1-5 (on either normal or World difficulty) constantly. All you have to do is warp to the exit every time.

If you’re not a fan of spending your energy inefficiently, then you can just play the game normally and you’ll eventually become closer with your hero. Doing Labyrinth and choosing the best camping dialogue choices will increase Hero Friendship a good amount. To find the best choices, check out this link for a Labyrinth Morale Optimizer.

Friendship Points

To get Friendship Points, you’ll need to use the supporters in battle provided from either your friends or strangers. Friends will give you 10 Friendship Points, while strangers give 5. Over time, others that use your supporters will give you points as well.

To use your Friendship Points, head over to the Friendship menu in the shop.

Friendship Bookmarks

You may notice that there’s another type of currency, Friendship Bookmarks. These are used for Friendship Summon in which you can summon low-tier creatures and artifacts. This is especially useful when you have a bunch of 2★ Phantasma that need fodder.

You’ll also get 1★ and 2★ artifacts from the Friendship Summon. You’ll be using these low-tier artifacts to level each other up. This is useful for getting the In Search of Strength and Efficiency achievements. In Search of Strength rewards gold, while Efficiency rewards Silver Transmit Stones.

Keep in mind that if you have over 50 Friendship Bookmarks, you’ll automatically do a 10 x Summon.

I hope you now have a better understanding of friendship in Epic Seven. Now go and become best friends with your heroes and other players.

Play On PC

When it comes to playing Epic Seven on the PC, check out BlueStacks. This is what we use to play all of our mobile games on a 60 fps no lag setup. BlueStacks lets you play multiple games at once with its ability to run multiple instances.

Pro tip, use this when rerolling so that you can reroll a bunch of times at once instead of one at a time.

Games are a longtime passion of mine starting from childhood when my mother bought me my very own Gameboy Color. I’ve been gaming ever since. I’m a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, with what I consider a wide skill set ranging from programming to photography. As the saying goes, a master of none is oftentimes better than a master of one.
