Aran is a great class to play if you like good mobility, lifesteal, and using different animals to attack. Doesn’t have the highest DPS in the game but it’s not bad and a decent boss mule.

Does it benefit from max Attack speed | Yes + (Green Pot + Decent Speed Infusion is enough to reach Max)
2 min or 3 min burst type? | 3 min
Gauge Class? | Yes (kinda) |
Aran’s gauge is her combo count. It is very easy to get your combo count up and max but you do have to manage it a little bit so that you can take full advantage of your skills.
You do not need to combo or use input commands with your attack key for maximum damage output. The only benefits to comboing are Final Toss gets more vertical height and you can free up keyboard space.
Aran is a decent boss mule since it has good skills for bossing. Currently, not one of the top mains but don’t let that stop you if you like the class.
Aran Beginner Skills
In the beginner tab you’ll have a few important skills like Regained Memory, Combat Step, Combo Kill Blessing, and Hero’s Echo. None of these you have to level up but it’s good to be aware of them.
Regained Memory is a skill you get when you do the Aran quest line. Once you finish [Silent Crusade] Maha’s Request you’ll get this skill which boosts attack by 5% and DEF. To start the quest look for (Lvl.140)[Main][Silent Crusade] A Cry for Help.
Combat Step is a dash skill. If you double tap a direction key you’ll do a little dash in that direction. Great for positioning in boss fights.
Hero’s Echo is an active buff of +4% Attack and Magic Attack for 40 mins with a cooldown of 5 mins. Great skill to have up at all times for extra damage.
Combo Kill Blessing is Aran’s link skill. At max level (3) you’ll gain +900% Combo Orb EXP. One of the best in slot for training and should always be taken while grinding. Does not help at all while bossing though so you should definitely replace it for that.
Aran 1st Job Skill Build
- Smash Swing (+1), Agile Polearms (+1), Final Charge (+1)
- Smash Swing (MAX)
- Ol’ Reliable (MAX)
- Agile Polearms (MAX)
- Final Charge (MAX)
- Final Toss (MAX)
Aran 1st Job Skill Explanation
Aran notable 1st job skills are Smash Swing, Final Charge, and Final Toss.
Smash Swing is your 1st mobbing skill. After 1st job you won’t need this skill anymore except for a bit of air stall in boss fights. If you use the skill in the air and hit a mob you’ll hover for a bit while attacking which is great in boss fights for extra mobility.
Do not use this skill to mob after 1st job, it is very bad for mobbing.
Final Charge is a quick dash skill that can only be used while on the ground. If you pair it with Combat Steps you can move left and right quickly and far.
Final Toss is mainly used for upward mobility. It can be used twice if you start from the ground. If you jump and then use Final Toss you can only use it once in the air. If you use the Command (Up + Attack) your jump height increases.
You can also Flash Jump after using Final Toss.

Permafrost is a short cooldown summon skill. At max level it will last for 60 sec with a 30 sec cooldown so you can have 100% uptime on it. Great for leaving in an area to mob for you.
Judgment Draw is mainly used for mobility and ledge grabbing. Ledge grabbing is when you’re able to reach an upper platform you would normally not make.
For example, you use your Final Toss to go upwards and then Judgment Draw once you’re near the platform.
Maha Blessing is an active buff skill. The skill gives you 30 Attack and Magic Attack. No cooldown so you can have 100% uptime on it. Really good to put on a pet with Auto Buff so you don’t have to think about it.
Adrenaline Rush and Adrenaline Rush Activate is a great skill for mobbing and bossing. Once you reach 1000 Combo you’ll be able to use the Activate skill which then summons an Ice Storm around you dealing damage to whatever it touches. For mobbing you can pop this whenever you want but for bossing you’ll want to make sure to time it with your other burst skills.

Aran 4th Job Skill Build
- Beyond Blade Mastery II (+1), High Mastery (+1), Cleaving Attack (+1)
- Advanced Final Attack (+1), Adrenaline Overload (+1)
- Beyond Blade Mastery II (MAX)
- High Mastery (MAX)
- Cleaving Attack (MAX)
- Advanced Final Attack (MAX)
- Maple Warrior (MAX)
- Adrenaline Overload (MAX)
- Finisher – Hunter’s Prey (MAX)
- Glacial Prison (MAX)
- Sudden Strike (MAX)
- Hero’s Will (MAX)
Aran 4th Job Skill Explanation
Aran notable 4th job skills are Finisher – Hunter’s Prey, Glacial Prison, and Adrenaline Overload.
Adrenaline Overload is a passive upgrade to Adrenaline Rush. If you land 10 attacks while Adrenaline Rush is active you can activate Adrenal Awakening which helps you deal additional damage and lets you use your Hyper Finisher Skill.
Adrenaline Overload needs to be activated in order to go into Adrenal Awakening. After you land 10 hits you can either
- Press Adrenaline Rush Activate again
- Use 6th job Origin Skill (automatically puts you in mode)
- Press Down Arrow Key + Adrenaline Overload (when you reach 10 hits you’ll do Adrenal Awakening automatically)
- Right click Adrenaline Rush Activate Skill before hand to lock the skill (once you land the 10 hits you’ll automatically go into Adrenal Awakening right away)
The 4th option is the easiest since you can set it up beforehand and forget it. Not the most ideal though since it could trigger when you don’t want it to. If Aran is your main you’ll want to stick to the 2nd and 3rd options.
Adrenal Awakening is important because it will allow you to use skills like Finisher: Last Stand which is one of your biggest burst skills.
It is important to note that Adrenal Awakening has a 180 sec CD so even though some Finisher skills have low CD, they can’t be used without having Adrenal Awakening active.
Finisher Hunter’s Prey is a burst skill that can also be held down for 2 seconds of I-Frame after the cast. This skill can only be used if Adrenaline Rush is active. In order to get the I-Frame you need to hold down the key which is not ideal while bursting since you can’t use other skills.
It is better to quickly release and get back to attacking since the boss should be bound anyways. In some scenarios it can help but it is rare.
Glacial Prison is your bind skill. Only used during bossing and after you’ve done your burst setup and are ready to burst.
Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |
Adrenaline Overload | Activate Adrenal Awakening by landing 10 attacks while Adrenaline Rush is active Adrenal Awakening: lasts 5 seconds, enables Hyper Finisher skills, activates Golden Burst every 1.2 seconds when using direct skill attacks Golden Burst: Deals 650% damage 10 times to up to 12 enemies Cooldown: 180 seconds, Adrenal Awakening cooldown displays via the border of Adrenaline Rush Activate [Passive Effect: Damage dealt by Iceflow: +320%] | Passive Skill |

Aran Hyper Skill Build
Aran has an easy hyper skill setup. This one is used for both mains and bossing mules.
Passive Skills
- Finisher – Reinforce
- Surging Adrenaline
- Beyond-er Blade
- Beyond Blade Barrage
- Piercing Beyond Blade
Active Skills
- Hyper Finisher – Last Stand
- Heroic Memories
- Maha’s Blessing
Hyper Finisher – Last Stand is your big burst bossing skill. Very skill important to get off while bursting and you need Adrenal Awakening to be active to use. Press the skill 3 times to get all 3 attacks out.
Check out Adrenaline Overload above to see the ways you can get into Adrenal Awakening to use this skill.
Heroic Memories is an active buff skill that is mainly used for burst setup and bossing.
Maha’s Blessing is an I-Frame skill with a 60 sec cooldown. Makes you invincible for 2 seconds and you can still attack during.
Also note that you need Surging Adrenaline in order to use 5th job skill, Finish – Adrenaline Surge. In case you wanted to try a different setup.
Aran 5th Job Skills
When you reach level 200 you’ll get access to your V Matrix and new 5th job skills. The best way to level them up is through Nodestones and Experience nodes. Aran V Skills are in order of importance are, Final Beyond Blade – White Tiger, Maha’s Carnage, Blizzard Tempest, Finisher – Adrenaline Surge.
Aran 5th Job Skill Explanation
Final Beyond Blade – White Tiger is the complete version of your Beyond Blade. White Tiger will now be added to the mix of animals in your Beyond Blade and help you deal a lot of damage.
Maha’s Carnage is a short cooldown big area attack. Use whenever off cooldown for mobbing and bossing. If you are not in the Adrenaline Rush Active state the cooldown for this skill is only 10 seconds. If you are in the Active state it will be 20 seconds.
Blizzard Tempest is a skill that helps you deal damage passively. It has a short duration of 30 sec and a cooldown of 90 sec. Decent help while mobbing and great for bossing burst setups.
Finisher – Adrenaline Surge is a skill mainly used for bursts. This can only be used if you have a point in the Surging Adrenaline passive hyper skill and Adrenaline Overload Lv. 30.
Also, this skill can only be used when Adrenaline Rush or Adrenal Awakening are active. Great to use whenever you can but you do want to have it up for your big burst setup.
Skill Name | Max Lvl Description | Purpose |
Final Beyond Blade – White Tiger | MP Cost: 200, Max Enemies Hit: 10, Damage: 815%, Number of Attacks: 7 Critical Rate: +100%, Ignore Defense: +50% Can be used after Beyond Blade’s 3rd hit | Passive Upgrade to Beyond Blade Skill |

Aran Perfect Trio Nodes
In the V Matrix you’ll also have Boost Nodes. They are there to level up your 1st – 4th job skills past their initial cap. You’ll want to level up the most useful skills for your class and those will form your perfect trios.
For Aran these are the perfect nodes you’ll want to look for,
Primary Node | Secondary Node |
Beyond Blade | Smash Swing/Permafrost |
Finisher – Hunter’s Prey | Final Attack |
Hyper Finisher- Last Stand | Adrenaline Rush/Adrenaline Overload |
For both mains and boss mules you’ll want to have both pairs of Primary and Secondary nodes. If you’re really low on nodes you can skip the Secondary for boss mules but with all the extra node slots and nodes given, it is better to have it.
An explanation of perfect trios and full list of all classes and their perfect trio nodes here.
All Useful 5th Job Skills for Aran
These are all the skills you’ll need to get the most out of Aran. Any other skills are not useful and can be disassembled.
Do not level up your Decent skills past level 1 unless you’re at the end game and min/maxing to get an extra 5 stat at max level. At level 1 all your decent skills have 100% uptime since the duration will be longer than the cooldown. Holy Symbol is the only exception since you’ll get more exp and drop rate as you level it.
Decent Sharp Eyes |
Decent Combat Orders |
Decent Speed Infusion |
Weapon Aura |
Maple World Goddess’s Blessing |
Decent Holy Symbol |
Decent Holy Fountain |
Blink |
Erda Nova |
Decent Advanced Blessing |
Will Of Erda |
Erda Shower |
Freud’s Wisdom |
Impenetrable Skin |
Rope Lift |
True Arachnid Reflection (Obtained from Will boss) |
Solar Crest (Obtained from Seren boss) |
The ones that are underlined and bolded are not necessary if making a boss mule.
Freud’s Wisdom is a really powerful skill but it requires a setup and you can’t die during the stacking. There are 6 stacks and buffs you can get. They are,
- Stack 1 – Skill Cooldown: -10% (excludes skills unaffected by cooldown reduction)
- Stack 2 – Status Resistance: +10
- Stack 3 – All Stats: +26
- Stack 4 – Attack Power & Magic ATT: +10
- Stack 5 – Boss Damage: +10%
- Stack 6: Invincible for duration of skill
Every 25 seconds you need to press the skill again to get to the next stack. If you make it to all 6 stacks you get a huge 30 second I-Frame where you can do whatever you want which is really good in boss fights.
If the buff expires or if you die during the stacking process the skill will stop stacking and immediately go on cooldown. It will take you around 2 mins and 5 seconds to get all the stacks so be careful during that time.
All Heroes have this skill (Mercedes, Shade, Aran, Phantom, Evan, Luminous) so if any of those are your main it is good to learn how to use it otherwise I wouldn’t bother on boss mules.
Aran 5th Job V Matrix Node Slot Priority
This is the order of what skills you should equip first,
- Boost Nodes, (Erda Shower and Decent Holy Symbol for training)
- Final Beyond Blade – White Tiger, Maha’s Carnage, Blizzard Tempest, Adrenaline Surge
- Weapon Aura, Maple World Goddess’s Blessing
- Decent Speed Infusion, Combat Orders, Sharp Eyes
- Freud’s Wisdom, Everything else
Maxing the skills in this order (except decents) is also ideal for bossing but if you want to get better training rates I would suggest putting more focus on Boost Nodes, Decent Holy Symbol, Final Beyond Blade – White Tiger, and Erda Shower.
Aran Bossing Combo
Aran’s burst is based around the Adrenaline Rush and Adrenal Awakening cooldown. The beginning doesn’t include stuff that you should have up all the time, like Decent Sharp Eyes, Decent Combat Orders, Maha’s Blessing, and Toggles. Put those skills on a pet with Auto Buff so you never have to worry about them.
Before you burst you want to make sure you’re at 1000 combo and do not activate Adrenaline Rush yet.
Big Burst Setup
- Permafrost, Weapon Aura, Maple World Goddess’s Blessing, Heroic Memories, Blizzard Tempest, Terms and Condition (AB Link), Ring of Restraint 4(Ror4), Endgame (or Adrenaline Rush Activate + Glacial Prison)
- Finisher – Hunter’s Prey, Finisher – Adrenaline Surge, Hyper Finisher – Last Stand x3, Glacial Prison
- Maha’s Carnage (every time its up), Beyond Blade spam
- > > > > > > > (+)
- > > >
- >
If you don’t have Origin yet you can skip it but make sure to activate your Adrenal Awakening and bind skill (Glacial Prison).
If you don’t have Ror4 yet you can also skip that or use Weapon Jump 4 if you have. (Ideally you want both for big burst and mini burst)
Mini Burst Setup
Aran can also do a mini burst setup when your combo hits 1000 again.
- Permafrost, Blizzard Tempest, Adrenaline Rush Activate, Terms and Conditions (AB link), Weapon Jump 4 Ring, Finisher – Hunter’s Prey, Finisher – Adrenaline Surge
- Maha’s Carnage, Beyond Blade spam
- > > > > > >

A little tip for setting up your burst on any character is that you set up your buff keybinds in an easy to reach descending order. I usually go down the number line (5-1) and when I reach 1 I know I used every buff I need for bursting. For example, you put your 1st buff on 5 then 2nd buff on 4, 3rd buff on 3, etc, till you’re done.
Aran 6th Job HEXA Skills
The HEXA matrix is split up into Skill Node (6th job Origin skill), Mastery Node (enhances 4th job skills), Boost Node (5th job enhancement), and Common Node (Job specific skills)

6th Job Aran HEXA Skill Priority
When starting your HEXA Matrix you’ll want to unlock everything then start putting focus on depending on if you’re a solo progression player or a party player.
If you’re a party player you’ll want to focus on your burst and getting that as high as possible. Especially important in late/end game bosses. For Aran you’ll want to prio Endgame and HEXA Beyond Blade.
If you’re a solo progression player there are infographics online and in the Aran discord that you can follow.
6th Job Aran HEXA Stat Priority
For Aran, your 1st HEXA stat node, you’ll want
- Main Stat: Attack
- Additional Stat: STAT
- Additional Stat: Critical Damage
HEXA stat is an RNG type system and it doesn’t matter what you get in the beginning since it is not worth it to reroll until your entire 6th job is maxed. Once it gets to level 20 leave it there and no matter what you got it would still be at least a 2-3% FD gain.
Ideally, you want 10/10/0 but that is very costly and you shouldn’t try to go for unless you have an excess of fragments or everything is done.
