Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross – Gear Guide

Gear is an important aspect in powering up your heroes in 7DS:GC. To gear up your heroes efficiently you’ll need to understand a couple things.

At the start, ensure that your right side equipment (rings, earrings, and orbs) are C-tier and the left side (bracers, necklaces, and belts) are SSR-tier. More info below!

Left vs. Right Side Equipment

Why is this difference important? Well, the main reason is to be efficient and save gold in the early stages of your 7DS:GC journey. Unless you have a large stockpile of gems and gold to spend, then it’s likely you’ll be following this path.

Right side equipment include: rings, earrings, and orbs. The main stat for the right side pieces of equipment will always be lower than that of the left side. Left side equipment includes: bracers, necklaces, and belts.

Bracers and rings increase Attack.
Necklaces and earrings increase Defense.
Belts and Orbs increase HP.

Compare these two pieces of equipment. Here you see a C-tier bracer versus a ring at C-tier. You’ll notice that the main stat is higher for the bracer (left sided) than the ring (right sided). This scheme is the same for all equipment. Main stats can be potentially double/half that of the other.

Bonus Stats

Okay, so what? Why not just get SSR-tier gear for both sides? We don’t do this because of gear awakening and its costs. Awakening provides gear with bonus % stats that are incredibly important in raising your heroes’ CC (combat class). To awaken a piece of equipment, you’ll need to first enhance it to +5, and then you can proceed to awaken with Awakening Stones.

If you’ve tried enhancing and awakening different tiered gear you may understand where I’m going with this. C-tier gear costs MUCH less in total investments to enhance and awaken than SSR-tier gear. C-tier gear requires 1★ Awakening Stones whereas SSR-tier requires 5★ Awakening Stones. 5★ Awakening Stones are quite rare (given through events or quests) and hard to make (through King’s Material Exchange).

To sum up, bonus stats are important and provide a decent boost in power. These bonus stats are the same for all tiers of gear. C-tier gear allows us to obtain these bonus stats cheaply and without much investment. All gear can be awakened a total of five times.

Note that for left side equipment, it’s okay to enhance the SSR-tier gear to +5 because the cost is relatively low at only 15,000 gold.

Rerolling Stats

All of what I’ve mentioned about the different tiered gear goes double for rerolling stats, which you’ll be doing often to try to maximize gear potential. Players can choose to reroll both the main stat and bonus stats to maximize its potential. In the case of bonus stats, you’ll be able to change them to what you want.

Here’s a list of bonus stats for each piece of equipment:

Bracer / Ring

Crit Rate1.5 – 4.5%
Crit Damage2 – 6%

Where do I get C-tier gear?

You can find C-tier gear in towns. Check the equipment shop and change to the Lv. 1 shop. Each town has a different set it provides. Gear sets are discussed further below.

Where do I get SSR-tier gear?

Once you’ve gotten a town’s friendship to Lv. 5, you’ll be able to farm SSR-tier gear by doing quests or purchasing them from the equipment shop at a high price. Other ways include the Equipment Draw located in the Shop Menu. You may also receive them from events and quests.

For more information about town friendship, check out our town friendship guide.

Where to find Awakening Stones?

You can find different tiers of Awakening Stones in the Fight Festival (PvP) Shop (Bronze to Platinum). You can also obtain them through quests and events or by using Material Exchange with King in the tavern.

Gear Sets

Gear sets are bonuses for having multiple pieces of equipment of the same set. Sets are either made of 2 or 4 pieces of equipment. Depending on a hero’s utility you’ll want to put different sets on them. You’ll want both a 4-set and a 2-set bonus to outfit a hero.

Here’s a list of set bonuses and which town to find the gear:

There may be more gear sets in future updates.

Choosing the right gear sets for your heroes as simple as understanding what role they provide your team. Tanks should be equipped with HP and Defense while attackers should be equipped with Attack and Defense sets.

For example, Green Meliodas should be outfitted with:

  • Attack and Defense – a good offensive balance
  • HP and Defense – a tank, counter-focused build
  • Attack and Lifesteal – a more offensive-sustain focused playstyle

Consider if your hero has skills that have synergy with different sets. This aspect of the game becomes more important when more difficult content comes out and for geared PvP.

Gear Set For All Content

When it comes to Gear Sets you will be running Attack and Defense for almost every hero. Generally, a team is composed of DPS, Support, and Utility units. 3 out of 4 heroes you run in your team will have Attack and Defense sets while the last Support or Utility will run HP and Defense.

The reason for this setup is because you want your DPS and Utility to be hitting hard and healing hard. While you want your support unit to be tanky and can buff and cleanse even while being focused.

*Another tip, keep only four sets of gear. Sell and salvage all other pieces of gear that aren’t a part of your four sets. The game allows you to exchange sets between heroes. So, you really only need four good sets and you can use them exclusively for most everything.

Playing on PC

When it comes to playing Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross on the PC, check out BlueStacks. This is what we use to play all of our mobile games on a 60 fps no lag setup. BlueStacks lets you play multiple games at once with its ability to run multiple instances.

Pro tip, use this when rerolling so that you can reroll a bunch of times at once instead of one at a time.
