Pokémon Masters: The Strongest There Is Story Event Guide

Steven has arrived in Pasio, and with him comes a new story event! Players have a new set of story missions to enjoy and complete.

Below is a detailed explanation of the Single Player missions, Co-op missions, and rewards you can obtain. Keep reading to find out more about the event!

Single Player Missions

The Single Player missions are pretty easy to complete on auto up until the last two battles. The team you use to battle is set, so you’ll have no choice but to use the Pokémon you’re given. For the last two battles, just play on manual. Use both X Attack on Metagross and Best There Is! once, followed by Iron Head on the Avalugg. Repeat until the opponents are defeated. Easy!

Players will receive 30 Gems for battle missions and 10 Gems for all other missions. This makes for a total of 190 Gems. This is excluding the rewards you’ll get from Poryphone missions which is mentioned later.

Co-op Missions

There are three difficulties for Co-op: Normal, Hard, and Very Hard. For Normal and Hard difficulties, bring your best Grass, Ghost, and Steel-type Strikers. These first two difficulties are easily beatable on auto when matching with a group, as long as your team is competent (and haven’t turned off their auto battling). I used the team below with maxed 2★ Psychic-type gear:

As for the Very Hard difficulty, you’ll see just how strong Steven & Metagross is. With the same team, I was able to win on semi-auto. I had to use a few moves to finish off Amaura and Metagross.

If players have Giovanni & Mewtwo, it’s much better to switch out Shauntal & Chandelure for them, especially if you’ve got maxed 2★ Psychic-type gear, like me. If you’ve got Rosa (Holiday 2019) & Delibird, the support power from them is really good, though you may have to play manually to be effective.

In general, the best Sync Pairs for these missions are:

  • Giovanni & Mewtwo
  • Brendan & Sceptile
  • Players & Solgaleo

Other good Sync Pairs:

  • Rosa & Delibird
  • Shauntal & Chandelure
  • Olivia & Lycanroc

Completing each of these missions for the first time will give you 30 Gems each, for a total of 90 Gems. Again, excluding rewards from Poryphone missions, discussed below.

Deric Kwok

Games are a longtime passion of mine starting from childhood when my mother bought me my very own Gameboy Color. I’ve been gaming ever since. I’m a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, with what I consider a wide skill set ranging from programming to photography. As the saying goes, a master of none is oftentimes better than a master of one.
