How good is Professor Oak & Mew?

If you’re confused about the “Form Change,” it basically does what Mega Evolution does to other Sync Pairs. It will change the moveset of Oak & Mew, turning it into an elemental monster. The only move leftover from its change will be Psychic.

As you can see, Mew’s stats are balanced. Don’t let this make you think Mew is weak! If we do the math, at 5★, Mew will have the highest total stats of any current Sync Pair (without Sync Grid upgrades).

Mew is VERY bulky. If we use the calculation of bulk which is: HP/2.75 + DEF + SP. DEF, Mew, at 5★, without a farm change, has a bulk of about 712, which is the highest in the game! The current leader is Rosa & Serperior with around 683. Note that this number for Rosa & Serperior is without Sync Grid upgrades. To make Rosa & Serperior even bulkier, check out our article on the best Sync Grid build for Rosa & Serperior.

You may ask, how does Mew fare as a Special Attacker? Its Sp. Atk. stat is decent, ranking at around top 20s. Mew’s self-buffing moves are a great setup for its form change, at which point, Mew will become an incredibly diverse attacker. To effectively use moves like Thunder or Blizzard, however, you’ll want to have a weather set-up since these moves have a high chance to miss. But if by chance, after using A World of Dreams!, you get a large boost in accuracy, you’ll be able to go ham! With Sync Grid upgrades, Mew will be even better.

Oak & Mew will come with their Sync Grids fully unlocked on release. Keep an eye out on our site for the best Sync Grid build for this Sync Pair.
