Is it worth rolling for Lyra & Jigglypuff?

Yes, the Fairy-type sync pair stands above others of their type to deal out both physical and special attacks. Being able to raise their own Attack and Sp. Attack without MP Refreshes allows for wider team building, especially in an area like Battle Villa.

Despite being a special striker, Jigglypuff has an Attack stat that rivals Sygna Suit Red and is able to max out her critical-hit rate and offensive stats. Her Sp. Attack stat is lower, but still powerful enough to damage opponents with the sync move.

Jigglypuff’s special move, Dazzling Gleam, isn’t very powerful, but it does accurately hit all opponents. Chances are you will want to use the physical move Play Rough. It hits one opponent and costs three bars of the move gauge, but it’s powerful with a chance to lower the target’s Attack.

Cute Factor Disarming Voice is a special sync move, but doesn’t have any additional effects. However, the passive ability Clock Out will put the target of the sync move to sleep after the attack. Their sync grid has several tiles that capitalize on opponents being asleep.

With two uses, Dire Hit + will max out Jigglypuff’s critical-hit rate, allowing her to treat every hit as a critical-hit. Solo Act! is Lyra’s Trainer move that becomes more effective if Jigglypuff is asleep. Normally, it will charge the move gauge by two and both Attack and Sp. Attack by one. If asleep, it will double the previous boosts, restore some HP and remove the asleep condition. However, Jigglypuff has no way to actually become asleep. She has to rely on an opponent putting her to sleep.

What makes Lyra & Jigglypuff good for Battle Villa is the passive abilities Mad Strength 2 and Mind Swell 2. Respectively, they have a chance to raise Jigglypuff’s Attack and Sp. Attack when an attack succeeds. Whether you use Dazzling Gleam or Play Rough, either attack can raise Attack and/or Sp. Attack.

With Fairy-type sync pair choices being limited and unimpressive, Lyra & Jigglypuff may find themselves as the sole Fairy-type to be used regularly until Diantha & Gardevoir are released. They will likely be paired with Serena & Fennekin most often, but they are a self-sufficient pair that do best in long battles, such as any 3v9 floors in Battle Villa. Since they are a seasonal sync pair, roll on their banner because you won’t get the chance to obtain them until next year.
