Pokémon games have a tendency to make it hard when it comes to adding and playing with friends. Here is everything you need to know about the Co-Op mode.
If you’re trying to Co-Op with your friends then you have to do a couple things first, like adding your friend’s code, unlocking Co-Op, coordinating Pokémon, and inviting them. Check your Poryphone for invitations, which you’ll need to complete stage 18 Very Hard.
Unlocking Co-Op
In order to unlock Co-Op Mode in Pokémon Masters you have to reach chapter 11. Once Co-Op Mode is unlocked you must add your friend in order to invite them to any room. Click on your Poryphone and send your friend the 16 digit ID code. Getting to chapter 11 is relatively easy, make sure to keep your Pokémon at a high level and you’ll be fine.
Who to use when in a Co-Op
This section depends entirely on your team and teammates. Ideally you want to have a Tanky Buffer and an Attacker. Stick to the weakness chart and be smart. If you see other people with attackers it will be more beneficial if you switch/choose a Tank/Buffer. This way you’ll be able to soak up the damage while allowing the attackers to do their job. The worst thing is when everyone chooses an attacker and gets blown up because of the opponents high damage to your weak defense. Be the hero people don’t know they need!
Meeting the Stage Requirement
When doing Co-Op there are Strength Needed requirements that you must meet in order to do that stage. If you want to easily meet the requirements then make sure your Sync Pair are high in level. Check out what Pokémon to use to help grind the Level Up stage here. Also, having the correct type Sync Pair will drastically increase your Strength Needed. If the stage has a weakness to grass be sure to add a grass type in your team to help meet requirements.
How to Create a Room and Invite Your Friend
In order to create a room you go to the Co-Op tab and when it gives the option to quick connect or play with friends, choose the friends.

Then you can either give your friend the code that appears or if you already had them added, go to the Poryphone and below you’ll see invitations. Click that and you should be able to join your friend in his battle.
Get Stronger With Gears Quest Unlock
You might be wondering how to unlock the 3rd stages in the Co-Op list. In order to complete the quest “Get Stronger with Gears” and unlock them you must complete Co-Op chapter 18 on Very Hard. This stage is difficult so you better bring your top Sync Pairs. You want to defeat Emboar the fire Pokémon first. His Area of Effect (AoE) damage is powerful and hits everyone for big damage. Try to coordinate with your friends and teammates so that you buff up the Pokémon able to defeat Emboar first.
Equipping Gears and Where to Find Them
After you defeat this stage you’ll be able to get gears which will further strengthen your Sync Pair. To equip gears you go to edit team and on the top side you’ll see a plus sign where you can add a gear. If you want to get more gears you are going to have to farm the Co-Op Very Hard stages.
