Pokémon Masters EX: Best Sygna Suit Leaf Sync Grid Builds

Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur are formally a Tech sync pair with their passive skills Venomous 4 and Sundering 9, but their sync grid lends itself to allowing them to function as a Striker or Support. Their biggest weakness is being unable to raise their own stats, but with their healing, debuffing, reducing sync move countdown and toxic infliction, that seems like an easy weakness to make up with other pairs.

The best sync grid build for SS Leaf and Venasaur would be to go for Razor Leaf Power, and Mega Healing.

Sync Grid Builds

The best abilities are behind sync level 3, so while she’s available, you may want to try for enough copies to unlock everything. If you only reach sync level 2, Spray and Pray (2/5) uses Razor Leaf to quickly attack and inflict poison–plus healing. Hope for quick toxic and refreshes on Leaf’s Trainer move and Potion.

Poisoned Healer / Sun Basking (3/5) is two very similar builds designed to tank and heal. If running a Sun build, Venusaur becomes even more difficult to take down because it gains two HP restorations in the sun. Without sun, Venusaur can increase her Razor Leaf damage against poisoned enemies for just a bit more damage on all opponents.

Finally, Double Nuke (3/5) brings out the sync nuke and attack nuke with Frenzy Plant. Reduce the sync move countdown quickly and take down opponents in a fell swoop.

Universal Upgrades

  • HP +10
  • Attack +10
  • Defense +5
  • Sp. Atk +5
  • Sp. Def +5
  • Speed +5
  • Razor Leaf Power +3
  • Mega Healing! MP Refresh 3

Universal Lucky Skill Recommendation:
Tank: Stoic 2, Vigilance, Fast Track 2
Striker: Critical Strike 2

Mega Healing! MP Refresh 3 can be used to grant new co-op sync pairs regeneration healing or to continue to count down the sync move timer. Continuous use will accelerate the sync move countdown to allow faster and more sync moves.

As a healing tank, Stoic 2 may raise Venusaur’s Defense with each move and is more useful if no other sync pairs will improve defenses. If another sync pair will raise her defense, Vigilance is good to protect her from critical hits. Fast Track 2 may raise her Speed, always helpful to regenerate the move gauge faster since her Speed is poor.

If instead the duo is used for damage, Critical Strike 2 will boost damage and can be combined with Razor Leaf’s Critical Strike 2 tile. If focusing on Frenzy Plant, bring another sync pair such as Sabrina & Alakazam to improve Venusaur’s critical-hit rate.

Spray and Pray Build (Sync Level 2/5)

(build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750
Total Energy Used: 60
Unique Upgrades:

  • HP +10
  • Attack +10
  • Speed +5
  • Razor Leaf Power +15
  • Razor Leaf Move Gauge Refresh 3
  • Razor Leaf Critical Strike 2
  • Potion MP Refresh 3

Lucky Skill Recommendation:
Stoic 2, Vigilance

SS Leaf & Venusaur  really want to be at sync level 3, but if you’re only able to pull two copies, the pair is best suited as a healer that inflicts poison with Razor Leaf.

Without access to many skills on the grid, the build focuses on making Razor Leaf a more powerful attack. It gains +18 power and Critical Strike 2. Razor Leaf has a better chance to be a critical hit than normal moves, so even without support, Critical Strike 2 will activate. Lastly, Razor Leaf Move Gauge Refresh 3 has a chance to regain one bar on the move gauge.

Potion MP Refresh 3 could give you another use of Potion. You always want more potions.

Poisoned Healer / Sun Basking Build (Sync Level 3/5)

(Poisoned Healer build link)

(Sun Basking build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 738 / 750
Total Energy Used: 59 / 60
Unique Upgrades:

  • HP +20
  • Speed +5
  • Frenzy Plant Power +3
  • Razor Leaf Power +3
  • Razor Leaf Move Gauge Refresh 3
  • Frenzy Plant Power +3
  • Potion MP Refresh 3
  • Potion Master Healer 2

Poison:

  • Toxic Power 5

Sun:

  • Frenzy Plant Power +3
  • Healing Sun 1

These two builds are very similar to each other in that they want to accomplish the same goals: heal sync pairs. The poison build deals slightly more damage but the sun build will make Venusaur even more difficult to take down.

Venusaur functions as a tank, so Razor Leaf Move Gauge Refresh 3 is picked up to continue the cheap attack spam for more chances to poison all three opponents, count down the sync move timer, and leave bars for the primary striker.

Potion MP Refresh 3 allows for potentially more uses and Potion Master Healer 2 restores +20% more HP with each use.

The Poison build grabs Toxic Power 5 for more Razor Leaf damage once opponents are poisoned while the Sun build picks up Healing Sun 1 to restore Venusaur’s HP when it attacks when the weather is sunny. Between Healing Sun 1 and Mega Healing!, Venusaur will be more difficult to take down as long as she continues to attack.

Double Nuke Build (Sync Level 3/5)

(build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 738
Total Energy Used: 59
Unique Upgrades:

  • HP +10
  • Sp. Atk +5
  • Frenzy Plant Accuracy +10
  • Frenzy Plant Move Gauge Refresh 4
  • Razor Leaf Power +3
  • Tenacious Frenzy Plant Power +50
  • Hem In 2
  • Toxic Power 5

Among non-Strike sync pairs, Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur have among the highest Sp. Atk, especially after becoming Mega Venusaur and Frenzy Plant is nearly as powerful as Hyper Beam. This build foregoes the Potion MP Refresh because other sync pairs can fulfill the healing role.

Frenzy Plant uses four bars on the move gauge, so the build picks up both Accuracy +10 and Move Gauge Refresh 4 to bring the attack’s accuracy up to 100 and possibly regain one move bar. Tenacious Frenzy Plant gains +50 power.

Picking up Toxic Power 5 will increase Frenzy Plant’s damage once an opponent is poisoned. There is a chance Frenzy Plant will poison the opponent, but you may want to consider bringing a sync pair that can quickly poison an opponent since Venusaur’s sync move also deals more damage if an opponent is poisoned.

Hem In 2 is picked up primarily to reach the sync tile, but can also help against any opponents that will raise their evasiveness.
