Pokémon Masters EX: Best Sygna Suit Blue Sync Grid Builds

Next to Sygna Suit Red & Charizard and Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur, Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise feels rather lackluster and a one-trick pony and their sync grid doesn’t expand their capabilities greatly. Blastoise does better in a rain team, but unlike sand, rain sync pairs have been neglected with a great rain setter. If you’re lacking sync orbs, Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise are a great sync pair to go minimal and pick up a tile when facing a troublesome opponent.

The best sync grid build for Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise would be to go for Top The Top! MP Refresh, X Defense All MP Refresh, Natural Remedy, and Quick Cure.

Sync Grid Builds

Sygna Suit Blue has been updated and you really want to check out his Updated Version!

Tempo Pulse (2/5) improves Blastoise’s damage output by picking up Water Pulse tiles because at sync level 2, any stat altering skills are locked away. Raging-Racing-Refreshing (3/5) picks up all tiles that activate when the weather becomes rainy to make Blastoise just a little bit faster, stronger, and more hearty. Tanking Turtle (3/5) focuses on just enduring hits as its sole focus.

Half of the energy is devoted to universal upgrades, which leaves limited room for variation, especially when Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise don’t have tiles that dramatically change their playstyle.

Universal Upgrades

  • HP +20
  • Defense +10
  • Sp. Atk +10
  • Sp. Def +5
  • Speed +5
  • To the Top! MP Refresh 3
  • X Defense All MP Refresh 3
  • Natural Remedy
  • Quick Cure

Universal Lucky Skill Recommendation:
Vigilance

Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise have great passive skills to help support allied sync pairs and the item move and Trainer move will see a lot. Every build focuses on Blastoise being a good Support pair by helping allied sync pairs raise almost every stat. To the Top! MP Refresh 3 and X Defense All MP Refresh 3 will allow additional uses to potentially max out the stats with one refresh.

Natural Remedy will remove all status conditions once when Blastoise is afflicted with one. Quick Cure will do the same for confused, flinching, and trapped conditions once per battle. Vigilance protects Blastoise from critical hits, which bypass any defenses you might have raised.

Sygna Suit Red & Charizard Sync Grid Build and Sygna Suit Leaf & Venusaur Sync Grid Build are some other important Sync Builds to look into!

Tempo Pulse Build (Sync Level 2/5)

(build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 738
Total Energy Used: 59
Unique Upgrades:

  • HP +10
  • Sp. Def +10
  • Water Pulse Power +20
  • Water Pulse Move Gauge Refresh 3
  • Smart Cookie

Blastoise’s poor Sp. Atk means Hydro Cannon isn’t worth the cost in energy or move gauge, so Water Pulse is the best use once Blastoise is done buffing allies.

Smart Cookie will strengthen Blastoise’s attacks the more his Sp. Def is raised. Force Field 4 has a 50% chance of activating to raise Sp. Def. Water Pulse gains +20 power and a Move Gauge Refresh 3. To the Top! will speed up the move gauge, but a refresh is always helpful to allow Strikers to deal their most powerful attack.

Raging-Racing-Refreshing Build (Sync Level 3/5)

(build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750
Total Energy Used: 60
Unique Upgrades:

  • Sp. Atk +5
  • Speed +5
  • Hydro Cannon Power +3
  • Racing Rain 2
  • Refreshing Rain 1
  • Raging Rain 3

In a rain team, Sygna Suit Blue & Blastoise don’t change up their methods, but this build does let them do everything a little bit better when it is raining.

Racing Rain 2 will speed up the move gauge on top of Blue’s Trainer move To the Top! Refreshing Rain 1 will restore a little bit of HP with each attack from Blastoise. Raging Rain 3 with power up Blastoise’s attacks. While Water Pulse isn’t powerful, every little bit helps.

Tanking Turtle Build (Sync Level 3/5)

(build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750
Total Energy Used: 60
Unique Upgrades:

  • HP +10
  • Speed +10
  • Water Pulse Power +10
  • Endurance
  • Wise Entry 2

With a full grid and a normal field, Blastoise can devote the remaining energy to bulking itself up to withstand more attacks. The build picks up Wise Entry 2 and Endurance, both expensive tiles but can help with consistency.

Force Field 4 only activates when Blastoise uses an attack, which may only come after X Defense All and To the Top! have been exhausted. Wise Entry 2 will raise his Defense by two levels when he enters the battlefield.

Endurance will allow Blastoise to withstand one move that would normally cause him to faint, but only if Blastoise entered the battle with full HP, which can be important if using the pair in the Battle Villa. However, it does not allow Blastoise to endure the opponent’s sync move.
