Pokémon Masters EX: Best Skyla & Togekiss Sync Grid Builds

Skyla & Togekiss bring the holiday cheer in a colorful way with a grid that cares all about status conditions. Pair them with allies that can guarantee certain status conditions to take out much of the randomness than hoping Air Slash or Tri Attack will have their effects activate. His grid is tuned that there is truly only one strategy you should pursue for sync level 2 and 3.

The best Skyla and Togekiss Sync Grid Builds are Red, Blue, Yellow, and Colorful News.

Red, Blue, Yellow (2/5): Going all-in on Tri Attack power, use an ally or Air Slash to cause flinching just before Togekiss’s sync move.

Colorful News (3/5): Boost stats and cause conditions to increase damage and cause opponents misery with Tri Attack and finish opponents with one swift sync move.

Universal Upgrades

HP +10

Defense +10

Sp. Atk +15

Sp. Def +10

Speed +5

Tri Attack Power +6

Gift of Joy! MP Refresh 2

Universal Recommended Lucky Skill:

Critical Strike 2

Because Togekiss uses several important tiles locked behind sync level 3, Gift of Joy! MP Refresh 2 is the only universal passive skill. It has a 30% chance of restoring one use of the move each time the move is used.

Critical Strike 2 is the recommended lucky skill since it will increase the damage an opponent takes from a critical hit. If Gift of Joy! is able to refresh, on the third use Togekiss will reach max critical-hit rate and every attack will be a critical hit.

Sync Grid Builds

Red, Blue, Yellow Build (Sync Level 2/5)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750

Total Energy Used: 60

(Build Link)

Unique Upgrades:

HP +10

Defense +15

Air Slash Power +4

Tri Attack Power +9

Tri Attack Move Gauge Refresh 3

Flinch Hitter 5

Going all in on Tri Attack, the move gains a total of +15 power. It also picks up its Move Gauge Refresh 3 tile, which will restore one bar to the move gauge 40% of the time. Despite passive tiles that increase the amount of damage an opponent takes from being burned or power up moves against frozen targets, Togekiss is unable to guarantee either status condition himself.

Flinch Hitter 5 increases his sync move power by 50% against a flinching target. Air Slash has a 30% chance to cause an opponent to flinch, but Super Interference 1 adds another roll, effectively making it 51% likely to cause flinching. Use Air Slash or have another ally to cause flinching and Tri Attack or another ally to cause a status condition and Good Tidings Air Slash does significantly more damage.

Colorful News Build (Sync Level 3/5)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750

Total Energy Used: 60

(Build Link)

Unique Upgrades:

Sp. Atk +10

Good Tidings Air Slash Power +25

Dirty Fighting 3

Ramming Speed

Rising Tide

With all tiles open, Togekiss opts for a more consistent and permanent strategy by scaling from status conditions and raised stats. Good Tidings Air Slash gains +25 power, but the bigger effect is from one passive ability: Rising Tide. For each stat that has been raised, the sync move’s damage increases by 5% and caps out at 30%. This means using Gift of Joy! once will increase damage by 20%. Combine it with
The remaining two passive abilities, Dirty Fighting 3 and Ramming Speed affects Togekiss’s moves. Dirty Fighting 3 will increase a move’s damage by 30% against an opponent with a status condition. Ramming Speed will power up a move by 5% each time his Speed is raised to a maximum of 30% with +6 Speed. Gift of Joy! adds +1 Speed with each use, so an ally is recommended to raise it the remaining +4. The choices for that job are numerous, so it shouldn’t be an issue.
