Silver & Ho-oh bring the heat with a new grid as the go-to sync pair for infinite sunny weather. Ho-oh’s grid focuses heavily on picking one move and putting all available energy into it. You’ll need to bring an ally that can improve Ho-oh’s Attack or Sp. Atk and Speed. Lyra & Meganium pair great with Silver & Ho-oh but they’re both hoping for a last ally to start the sun. There’s slim pickings for now, but new pairs are sure to fill that hole.
The best Silver and Ho-oh sync grid builds are Overheat (lvl 2 & 3), Solar Beam, and Sacred Fire.

Ho-oh’s builds focus on each of its attacks, but all pickup three passive abilities to improve damage. The first is Fast-Track 3, which has a 40% chance to increase Ho-oh’s Speed by one stage after a successful attack. Ho-oh cannot otherwise raise its Speed without the aid of an ally. Ramming Speed will improve move damage and Inertia sync-move damage with higher Speed.

Overheat gains +10 power and Move Gauge Refresh 3. The +10 accuracy eliminates the move’s 1 in 10 chance to miss. The lucky skill Dauntless negates Overheat’s drawback of lowering Ho-oh’s Sp. Atk by -2. An ally can raise Ho-oh’s Sp. Atk to max and it will be able to keep up the damage. Power-Hungry Sacred Fire gains +50 power but it is a physical move and won’t benefit from raised Sp. Atk.

At sync level 2, the build loses out on the boosts to the sync move, greatly weakening Ho-oh’s effectiveness. But the build does pick up an additional +6 power to Overheat and +10 to Sp. Atk. Since Silver & Ho-oh is a free sync pair, it isn’t difficult to unlock the full grid when the event is active.

Solar Beam picks up +14 power and a Move Gauge Refresh 2 tile. Charging Sun 3 will boost the move’s power by 30% when used in sunny weather. Silver’s I’ll Show You! raises Ho-oh’s critical-hit rate by +1 during normal weather or +2 in sunny weather. The best lucky skill to pick up is Critical Strike 2, which increases all damage by 20% on any critical hit.

Sacred Fire gains +8 power and +5 accuracy. The build only picks up Overheat’s Move Gauge Refresh tile to reach Sacred Fire’s Burn Synergy 3. It increases Sacred Fire’s damage against burned opponents by 30%. Hostile Environment 1 increases the chances of Sacred Fire burning an opponent from 50% to 75% . It adds an extra roll for the burned effect with each successful hit. Since Ho-oh can max it’s own critical-hit rate, Critical Strike 2 is the recommended lucky skill.
