Pokémon Masters EX: Best Lillie & Ribombee Sync Grid Builds

Lillie returns with Ribombee to bring in the new year with a grid that benefits when Ribombee is hit by or successfully evades an attack. However, evasion is rather hit-or-miss to rely on it as a strategy. Her Leech Life attack is her only way to damage opponents (besides her sync move) but it also helps her endure throughout the battle. She might be suited for a Battle Villa team with her ability to heal herself repeatedly, but pairing her with Skyla & Swanna is sure to be a good bet for any long battles.

The best Lillie and Ribombee Sync Grid Build is all about boosting your only damaging attack, Leech Life.

Universal Upgrades

HP +10

Attack +10

Defense +20

Sp. Def +10

Speed +15

Leech Life Power +6

Leech Life Move Gauge Refresh 3

Alola Lang Syne! MP Refresh 2

Toughen Up 3

Universal Recommended Lucky Skill:

Vigilance

Ribombee has only one attack, Leech Life. At three bars, it’s expensive for a sync pair that functions as the team’s shield, but making sure to keep attacking with it is importantLeech Life picks up Move Gauge Refresh 3 to help when you do need to use the move. Grabbing +6 power helps inflict a little bit more damage, but it also helps Ribombee restore her health.

Alola Lang Syne! MP Refresh 2 will give you a chance to have an additional use each time it is used, but only one extra use is necessary for Ribombee and her allies to reach max evasiveness, which many of her passive skills and tiles on her grid rely on. However, Toughen Up 3 has a chance to raise Ribombee’s Defense when she is hit by an attack. Since she has no other way to boost her defensive stats herself, this helps her be more likely to withstand the next attack.

To stop an opponent’s critical-hit from cutting through any defenses she might have, Vigilance is the recommended lucky skill. It also stops a critical-hit from doing more damage.

Sync Grid Builds

Sync Level 2 Build

Total Sync Orb Cost: 738

Total Energy Used: 59

(Build Link)

Unique Upgrades:

HP +20

Sp. Def +5

Leech Life Power +6

At sync level 2, Ribombee functions very similarly to her fully unlocked build but is less effective due to the lack of Master Healer. To make up for less healing ability, Leech Life gains an additional +6 power and additional stats to Ribombee’s health and Sp. Defense. One other option is to pick up Move Gauge Boost MP Refresh 2 if you are particularly struggling with the move gauge. Since critical-hit rate maxes out at +3 and using Dire Hit All + raises it by +2, there is never a reason to pick up that tile.

Sync Level 3 Build

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750

Total Energy Used: 60

(Build Link)

Unique Upgrades:

Leech Life Move Gauge Refresh 3

Leech Life Master Healer 1

Ribombee’s strategy is simple: boost evasion, boost critical-hit rate, then Leech Life. Her attack picks up an additional Move Gauge Refresh 3, meaning one or both can activate each time the move is successful.  Master Healer 1 increases the amount of HP restored each time Ribombee uses Leech Life by a small bit. If an opponent gets past her evasion, Leech Life is there to help heal her up before another attack hits.
