The Master sync pair Leon & Charizard waste no time in giving Sygna Suit Red & Charizard some fiery competition with a grid that improves on Inferno, Charizard’s strongest attack. Charizard is certainly a top-tier Striker that will benefit from allies able to max his Sp. Atk quickly and cover for his weak defenses. His strategy is very simple: Use Inferno.
The best sync grid builds for Leon and Charizard are Sync Level 2, Fast Inferno, and Inferno Sync Nuke.
Universal Upgrades
HP +10
Attack +10
Defense +5
Sp. Atk +10
Sp. Def +10
Speed +10
Inferno Power +2
Inferno Move Gauge Refresh 5
Universal Recommended Lucky Skill:
Critical Strike 2
Charizard has three powerful attacks, but the only one you should really invest energy into is Inferno. All builds gain a +2 power to Inferno and a Move Gauge Refresh 5. With a cost of four bars, having a 60% chance of one bar being refilled on the move gauge will help keep your tempo up.
Critical Strike 2 is the only lucky skill you should be considering since Charizard is such a powerful Striker. He can raise his own critical-hit rate with Leon’s Trainer move and a tile is available on the grid to guarantee his first attack is a critical hit.
Sync Grid Builds
Sync Level 2 Build (Sync Level 2/5)
Total Sync Orb Cost: 738
Total Energy Used: 59
Unique Upgrades:
Defense +5
Sp. Atk +5
Inferno Power +4
Earthquake Power +6
Earthquake Move Gauge Refresh 3
Burst In
Rejuvenate 6
At sync level 2, all of the damage boosting tiles are locked away, so picking up the best of what is available is the goal.
Inferno is Charizard’s main attack and gains a total +6 power. To deal with opponents with high Sp. Def, Earthquake gains +6 power and a Move Gauge Refresh 3. If instead you would like to use the energy for stats, you would be able to pick up most Attack, Sp. Atk, and Speed boosts.
Burst In will ensure that Charizard’s very first attack is a critical-hit. Rejuvenate 6 will fill the entire move gauge bar after Charizard uses his sync move, allowing you to immediately queue up Inferno again.
Fast Inferno Build (Sync Level 3/5)
Total Sync Orb Cost: 750
Total Energy Used: 60
Unique Upgrades:
Defense +5
Sp. Atk +5
Inferno Power +2
Burn Synergy 3
Burst In
Rejuvenate 6
Sync Burst 1
Charizard is capable of using Leon’s Trainer move indefinitely thanks to MP Rekindle 2 making him a great candidate for Battle Villa, so long as you regain the MP before ending the battle. Charizard comes in blazing fast and ends battles by putting his entire grid’s focus on Inferno. The move gains +4 power total, but the real improvements come from the abilities.
Burn Synergy 3 increases a move’s damage by 40% against burned targets. When Charizard enters the battlefield, Burst In activates and ensures that his very first attack will be a guaranteed critical hit.
After he uses his sync move the first time, Sync Burst 1 will restore one MP to Strike a Pose! and is more reliable than hoping MP Rekindle 2 will activate before ending the battle in Battle Tower. Additionally, after every sync move, Rejuvenate 6 will refill six bars on the move gauge, meaning he can immediately use Inferno afterwards.
Inferno / Sync Build (Sync Level 3/5)
Total Sync Orb Cost: 750
Total Energy Used: 60
Unique Upgrades:
Sp. Def +10
Speed +15
Inferno Power +2
Earthquake Power +3
Champion Time Fire Blast Power +25
Burn Synergy 3
Scorching Sync 5
The build opts for consistent damage output needed for long fights and powers up Charizard’s sync move, choosing raw damage over other effects.
While Champion Time Fire Blast doesn’t do anything extra, Charizard is capable of improving the sync move’s damage with Inferno. Inferno gains +4 power total, but it is always guaranteed to burn the susceptible target. After using the attack, Burn Synergy 3 will raise Charizard’s move attacks by 30% as long as the target is burned, including Earthquake if you need to deal with high Sp. Def opponents.
Similarly, Champion Time Fire Blast gains +25 power and its damage improves by 50% against burned targets with Scorching Sync 5. With Leon’s Trainer move able to be refreshed indefinitely and it reduces the sync move countdown by -1 each time, outpacing the opponent will help the fight finish faster by getting more sync moves in.
