Pokémon Masters: Best Summer Lyra Sync Grid Builds

As the first rollable 5★ Fairy-type sync pair, Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff fill in a neglected area as a useful Fairy-type sync pair. They’re capable of dealing out both physical and special damage and can be adapted to a situation with their sync grid. They’ll work great with Serena & Delphox who can reliably and repeatedly put opponents to sleep.

The best sync grid build for Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff would be to go for either a Play Rough-focused build, or a Dazzling Gleam-focused build.

Sync Grid Builds

Play Rough Punch (3/5) is all-in on the physical beatdown suited to taking down an opponent weak to Fairy-type. Sparkling Solo (3/5) works best against opponents that have low Sp. Defenses, but is still reliant on the opponent being asleep. Solo Sync (3/5) picks up many passive skills to increase damage with Dazzling Gleam and the sync move.

A sync level 2 build is listed beneath Play Rough Punch, as the other two lose a lot of effectiveness without the full grid.

Universal Upgrades

  • HP +10
  • Attack +5
  • Defense +5
  • Sp. Atk +5
  • Sp. Def +5
  • Speed +5

Universal Lucky Skill Recommendations:
Critical Strike 2

Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff have enough versatility in their grids that no tile is used in all builds. However, with Dire Hit + in their moveset, the lucky skill Critical Strike 2 is always recommended.

Total Sync Orb Cost: 738
Total Energy Used: 59
Unique Upgrades:

  • Attack +10
  • Play Rough Power +16
  • Play Rough Accuracy +10
  • Play Rough Move Gauge Refresh 3
  • Play Rough Move Gauge Refresh 3
  • Solo Act! MP Refresh 2
  • Fast-Track 2

2/5 Variation:
– Play Rough Power +3
– Play Rough Accuracy +10
+ Sp. Defense +5
+ Solo Act! Master Healer 6

Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff have one goal with this build: attack as hard as possible as soon as possible.

Play Rough gains +16 power, +10 accuracy, and two tiles of Move Gauge Refresh 3 which makes this one powerful attack! The accuracy boost brings Play Rough to a 100% hit rate, meaning no untimely misses when you need it most. Two tiles of Move Gauge Refresh 3 means each attack it can potentially regain up to two bars.

Picking up Solo Act! MP Refresh 2 means the sync pair can have another chance to increase their Attack and Sp. Attack or use it for an additional healing. Jigglypuff’s passive abilities are not guaranteed, so this can help with her consistency. Fast-Track 2 is the only way Jigglypuff can boost her slow Speed by herself to refill the gauge more quickly for Play Rough’s 3-bar cost.

The 2/5 variation loses out on the accuracy, but picks up Solo Act! Master Healer 6 to greatly increase the amount of HP restored when it is used. Alternatively, grab Attack tiles to push the damage further.

Sparkling Solo Build (Sync Level 3/5)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 738
Total Energy Used: 59
Unique Upgrades:

  • HP +10
  • Sp. Def +5
  • Dazzling Gleam Power +20
  • Dazzling Gleam Move Gauge Refresh 3
  • Dazzling Gleam Critical Strike 3
  • Solo Act! MP Refresh 2
  • Solo Act! Master Healer 6
  • Good Night-Mare 5

2/5 Variation:
Not recommended

If your sync move slot is taken up by another sync pair, but the opponent has high defenses, using Dazzling Gleam may be more effective.

The move builds up +20 power, but the best addition to increasing damage is grabbing Dazzling Gleam Critical Strike 3. Picking up Dazzling Gleam Move Gauge Refresh 3 allows for a return of one bar to the move gauge, letting your primary attacker use their more expensive attacks.

Since Mind Swell 2 will activate randomly, Solo Act! MP Refresh 2 will sometimes restore one use to the Trainer move, allowing for more consistent damage output and more move gauge bars. It will also help Jigglypuff’s longevity with Master Healer 6 if Solo Act! is used for its restorative effect.

Finally, Good Night-Mare 5 boosts damage against sleeping opponents. Likely, you will only add Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff to the team when you can take advantage of it.

At sync level 2, the pair loses out on both Critical Strike 3 and Good Night-Mare 5, significantly lowering their damage output. You would be better off finding another sync pair to fill their slot.

Solo Sync Build (Sync Level 3/5)

(build link)

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750
Total Energy Used: 60
Unique Upgrades:

  • Defense +5
  • Sp. Defense +5
  • Dazzling Gleam Power +8
  • Dazzling Gleam Critical Strike 3
  • Solo Act! Master Healer 6
  • Cute Factor Disarming Voice Power +75
  • Good Night-mare 5
  • Rude Awakening 5

2/5 Variation:
Not recommended

Pairing Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff with Serena & Delphox is a great combination where one can put every opponent to sleep and the other can take advantage of every sleeping opponent. This build makes up for Dazzling Gleam’s low power by stacking multipliers.

Cute Factor Disarming Voice gains +75 power and the passive skill Rude Awakening 5 will increase damage dealt to a sleeping opponent. To reach a sync tile, Solo Act! Master Healer 6 is picked up which will greatly increase HP restored by Solo Act! with each use.

This build uses Dazzling Gleam as the base attack, but is unable to pick up most of the upgrades because of energy and grid limitations. Dazzling Gleam gains +8 power as well as Critical Strike 3. Using Dire Hit + twice will max Jigglypuff’s critical-hit rate so Critical Strike 3 will activate every time. You’ll still want Critical Strike 2 as your lucky skill.

Lastly, Good Night-mare 5 powers up attacking moves against targets that are asleep. With Delphox able to put all opponents asleep, Dazzling Gleam hitting all opponents means the attack will have increased damage from Good Night-mare 5 and Critical Strike 3. This build makes Summer Lyra & Jigglypuff great at being a secondary striker, able to hit the side opponents while your main striker focuses on the center opponent.
