Pokémon Masters: Best Steven Sync Grid Build

Steven & Metagross is a powerful Sync Pair. Players are throwing their Gems at the Shop to scout Steven! If you happen to be one of the lucky few, you may be wondering which Sync Grid build you should go. What’s the best Steven & Metagross Sync Grid build?

The best Steven & Metagross Sync Grid build would be to go for:

  • Iron Head: Move Gauge Refresh
  • Iron Head: Power
  • Unyielding 2
  • Bullet Punch: Eagle Eye

Sync Grid Build

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750

Total Energy Used: 60

Total Stat Upgrades:

  • Attack + 25
  • Bullet Punch: Eagle Eye 9 – Bullet Punch Raises the user’s critical-hit rate when the user’s Pokémon uses a move. [Req. Lv3 Sync]
  • Defense + 5
  • HP + 30 [Req. Lv2 Sync]
  • Iron Head Power + 20 [Req. Lv3 Sync]
  • Iron Head: Move Gauge Refresh 3 [Req. Lv2 Sync]
  • Sp.Def + 5
  • Speed + 10
  • Unyielding 2 [Req. Lv3 Sync]

Steven & Metagross has a moveset that leans towards the late-game. Late-game meaning after their Sync Move is used for Mega-Evolution. The reason why we build Iron Head is because it’s the move that remains after Mega-Evolving. Bullet Punch: Eagle Eye powers up Iron Head even further with improved critical hits.

Unyielding provides Metagross with welcomed survivability, especially in Co-op missions.

You may have noticed that this Sync Grid build is only for Lv. 3 Sync Move. Who in their right mind has that crazy amount of luck (or money), you say? Potential builds are at the bottom of the article.

How to farm Steven Sync Orbs

On auto, bring Steven & Metagross and Player & Torchic to the Ultra Hard Level-Up Course. For this method, I used a Steven & Metagross with NO additional moves. The battle is clear-cut and simple. Torchic will buff a few times and Metagross will spam Meteor Mash to victory.

Make sure both Sync Pairs are at max level (120/110). You don’t need gear for this grind.

Potential Builds

Not everyone will be able to scout Steven & Metagross several times. Unlucky players may end up with Lv. 1 Sync Move (or not even get Steven at all!).

Steven & Metagross’s Lv. 1 Sync Move Sync Grid build is basically just stats. It might not be worth investing too heavily into Steven & Metagross at Lv. 1 Sync Move unless you have a lot of time to grind Sync Orbs.

Remember, it’s always possible to reset Sync Build for the cost of gold (free for the first time). Sync Orbs will be refunded!

The Sync Pair’s Lv. 2 Sync Move opens up more paths to better builds. Players can go for a Meteor Mash: Power or Move Gauge Refresh build, or even a Sync Move Power-oriented build.

What about other Lv. 3 Sync Move builds? Players can build towards more tanky/support type Steven & Metagross with Unyielding, Stoic, and Natural Remedy.

Games are a longtime passion of mine starting from childhood when my mother bought me my very own Gameboy Color. I’ve been gaming ever since. I’m a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, with what I consider a wide skill set ranging from programming to photography. As the saying goes, a master of none is oftentimes better than a master of one.
