Pokémon Masters: Best Flint Sync Grid Build

Flint & Infernape is one of the best F2P (free-to-play) Sync Pairs, being a Fire-type Striker. He makes quick work of certain EX Challenges, like Erika and Janine. With the right Sync Grid build, he becomes even stronger.

The current best build for Flint & Infernape is to go for Speedy Entry, Agile Entry, Endurance, and Fire Blast: Power & Accuracy.

Sync Grid Build

Total Sync Orb Cost: 750

Total Energy Used: 60

The build makes Fire Blast a much better move with the accuracy boosts. There’s no specific order you should follow since you can just grind out 750 Sync Orbs and upgrade all at once. To make your grind easier, however, I’d recommend putting in upgrades for Speedy Entry 2 and Agile Entry 2.

Even without the unlocks from the Lv. 3 Sync Move, Infernape becomes super strong. Once we get another Fire-type training event (hopefully with another Flint & Infernape upgrade), then more options will open up, which I mention at the bottom.

How to farm Flint Sync Orbs

On auto, bring Flint & Infernape, Blaine & Ponyta, and Hilbert & Oshawott to the Super Hard Level-Up Course. Hilbert & Oshawott don’t need to be high level—they just need to be able to use X Speed and In This Together! making Infernape prioritize Fire Punch. Fire Punch is a better move to generate Sync being a 2-bar move that’s more accurate and weaker so enemies won’t die too quickly. Ponyta is simply here to tank damage and look pretty.

You don’t need gear for this grind!

A slightly more F2P-friendly team on auto would be to just replace Hilbert & Oshawott with Maylene & Meditite. This team is slightly slower, since you won’t be getting a Speed boost. My Maylene & Meditite don’t have any additional moves learned. Similar to the other team, you won’t need any gear.

Potential Builds

Flint & Infernape become much, much stronger after Lv. 3 Sync Move unlocks. You’ll be able to get Critical Strike 1. Coupled with Sharp Entry 1, Infernape will strike hard right off the bat. You can build either to be either a Physical or Special damage beast.

There’s also the possibility of using Power Reserves 2 to be a deadly nuker. All in all, Flint & Infernape has a flexible Sync Grid for you to experiment with.

Games are a longtime passion of mine starting from childhood when my mother bought me my very own Gameboy Color. I’ve been gaming ever since. I’m a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, with what I consider a wide skill set ranging from programming to photography. As the saying goes, a master of none is oftentimes better than a master of one.
