Pokémon Masters: Best Flannery Sync Grid Build

Flannery & Torkoal are now incredibly strong with the release of Sync Grids. There’s one build in particular that’s the strongest for Flannery & Torkoal, capable of defeating an EX Challenge solo!

The best build for Flannery & Torkoal is to go for Critical Strike, Burn Synergy, and Ember: Power.

Sync Grid Build

Total Cost: 738 Sync Orbs

Total Energy Used: 60

This build’s order can be flexible. Go for Critical Strike 5 first, followed by Burn Synergy 5, and then finish up with the remaining Ember: Power.

Alternate:

Total Cost: 750 Sync Orbs

Total Energy Used: 60

In battle, be sure to use Will-O-Wisp to burn the enemy first, and then unleash with the powered up version of Ember to deal massive amounts of critical damage. Be aware that some opponents can’t be burned!

How to farm Flannery Sync Orbs

On auto, bring Rosa & Serperior and Flannery & Torkoal to the Super Hard Level-Up Course. You can also replace Rosa & Serperior with Roxanne & Nosepass (which need to have Study Buddies!), but you may fail because of unlucky Paralysis on Torkoal because Nosepass isn’t targeted. Just retry and have another go.

Make sure your team is at max level. Use the best Fire gear, or whichever gear gives Flannery & Torkoal the best stats. The Level-Up Manuals you obtain from this grind will be a welcome bonus.

Potential Builds

Currently, there isn’t a way for Flannery & Torkoal to get Sync Level to 3. But once it’s possible, then building towards Fortuitous 4 and Pass It On will be a viable build. Combined with the default passive, Impervious, this makes Torkoal a great damage-dealing support.

Games are a longtime passion of mine starting from childhood when my mother bought me my very own Gameboy Color. I’ve been gaming ever since. I’m a self-proclaimed jack of all trades, with what I consider a wide skill set ranging from programming to photography. As the saying goes, a master of none is oftentimes better than a master of one.
