Pokémon Masters: Best 5 Sync Pairs to Have/Roll

Pokémon Masters is a hot new game released by The Pokémon Company. It strays away from the traditional catching of Pokémon to the catching of trainers. The story takes place on Pasio where you and team train and battle to be able to participate in the famous Pokémon Master League. (PML) The goal of the game is meeting and friending trainers to create the strongest team possible and compete in the PML. In order to do that you are gonna need to know who to look out for to be on your team.

The main trainers to look out for when rolling for them are, Phoebe & Dusclops, Brenden & Treecko, Karen & Houndoom, Roxanne & Nosepass, and Noland & Pinsir. These would be considered S-Tier Sync Pairs and are worth your time.

S-Tier Sync Pairs and Combos

Phoebe & Dusclops – This ranks at the top of the list because of its support abilities. Dusclops can raise the critical-hit of all allies with Dire Hit All and has a great passive moves such as Pass It On and Vigilance. Activate Dire Hit All in the beginning of the match and then go to town with the rest of your strong Pokémon.

Dire Hit All – Sharply raises the critical-hit rate of all allies.

Pass It On – Transfers half the amount of raised stats to the ally switching into its place when Dusclops faints.

Vigilance – Dusclops is protected from critical hits.

Team Synergy – best with strong critical hitters such as Houndoom and Pidgeot.

Brendan & Treecko – This Sync Pair is considered the strongest early game pair. Reason being it’s access to the move No Turning Back! The move allows Treecko to be a solo carry with both physical and special attack moves, often clearing trainers all by himself.

No Turning Back! – Based on the amount of slots used, Treecko gains a +2 to both physical and special attack stat. Each slot used will give +2, the maximum being +6 with 3 slots.

Team Synergy – Great with Rosa & Snivy and Phoebe & Dusclops. These two help replenish the move gauge allowing Treecko to use No Turning Back!

Karen & Houndoom – Houndoom is great because of its access to Bite and Snarl coupled with the highest Special Attack in the game. Bite allows you to flinch an enemy while Snarl is an AoE attack which reduces all enemies Special Attack by 1. Houndoom’s other skill Entertain Me! Helps out greatly in clutch situations.

Entertain Me! – The lower Houndoom’s HP, the higher this move buffs it’s Special Attack stat.

Team Synergy – Houndoom has access to a lot of moves which can boost its already high Special Attack. A team which can replenish the move gauge and increase speed is ideal for Houndoom.

Roxanne & Nosepass – This pair is in the top tier of the support category. The access to Study Buddies! and Wide Guard makes it one of the most useful buffers in the game. This pair coupled with a strong Special Attacker and a really tanky pokémon are truly fearsome.

Study Buddies! – Raises the Special Attack and Speed of all allies by +2.

Wide Guard –  Nosepass takes a defense stance and while in this stance any move that targets all allies are nullified.

Team Synergy – Really excels with a strong Special Attacker and Tank. Best choice for Special Attacker would be Karen & Houndoom or Blue & Pidgeot. For Tanks the best option would probably be Rosa & Snivy. Rosa & Snivy because they also have a Special Attack buff and Move Gauge replenish.

Noland & Pinsir – After Mega Evolving, Pinsir becomes the number 1 in the Attack stat category. With the help of his skill Fury Cutter he only gets stronger as the match goes on. Also his unique move Bring It On! Allows him to compete with the fastest in the game as well. Investing in Pinsir will give you one of the strongest and fastest Pokémon in the game.

Bring It On! – Restores some hp while raising the Speed stat by +2.

Fury Cutter –  Power goes up every time you use it in succession.

Team Synergy – Although Pinsir has access to X Attack, you do not want to waste time buffing and instead should be charging your Fury Cutter. Hilbert & Oshawott fill Noland & Pinsir needs perfectly. The pair offers a speed buff and an Attack buff with good bulk and tankiness. Another good addition would be Phoebe & Dusclops which increases crit rate and attack.

Stuck On A Chapter?

Often times people get stuck on a stage then look for a new Pokémon to replace one on their team. This is not the best way to do things. Level often matters a lot more than Pokémon skills. Someone with higher level and bases stats will most likely win over a low level Pokémon and good skills. Make sure to do the Special Training: Battle Techniques so that you get access to Unlock Level Cap. Get the materials in order to keep increasing your level cap on each Pokémon you are using. Whenever you get stuck make sure to level up and you’ll be able to clear the stage after that.

Basic Team Composition

A basic team composition to keep in mind when making your team is to have 1 attacker 1 supporter and 1 tank. Another pattern would be 1 attacker 2 supporters. This can be used when your supporters are tanky and have a lot of HP and resistances. Generally you don’t want more than 1 attacker because attackers are usually easier to kill and don’t offer many buffs.
