Fire/Poison Archmage Best Skill Build and Guide MapleStory

Fire/Poison Archmage is one of the subsets of the Explorer Magician class. This class uses the power of Fire and Poison to deal a lot of damage over time effects to enemies which can clear mobs quickly. This class has a ton of toggles so make sure to turn them all on once you log in.

Fire/Poison Archmage is a versatile class that is good at both mobbing and bossing. The only issues would be learning how to use the skills and understanding how to keep Infinity up as long as possible. 

Destiny Update

The Destiny update gives Fire/Poison better use of their poison skills and it greatly increases their mobbing capabilities. You also get an Up Jump skill and big burst. Keep track of your poison stacks and Infinity and you’ll be clearing stuff easily. 

Fire/Poison Archmage 1st Job Skill Build

1st job for Fire/Poison is consistent for all the Explorer magicians. Use Energy Bolt and Teleport and you’ll be 2nd job quickly. This almost becomes unnecessary since following the quest for explorers brings you to level 30.

Fire/Poison Archmage 3rd Job Skill Build

3rd job for Fire/Poison Archmage is called Mage (Fire/Poison). You’ll get some other mobbing skills and passives for your 3rd job. With Destiny, you’ll get Creeping Toxin which makes your mobbing good since it covers a long horizontal area and can be exploded with Fire skills. 

Maps, where you can set Creeping Toxin down and be on another platform and still ignite it, will be the best way to see high exp rates.

You’ll also get some Stance and max Stance at 4th job.

Creeping Toxin Explosion: MP Cost: 60. Chain explosions initiated by Creeping Toxin Explosion do not consume MP

Toxic pools can be detonated for 1.5 sec after they appear, dealing 192% damage 5 times to up to 10 enemies
That explosion will detonate any other nearby toxic pools

An enemy damaged by chain explosions, taking place within 0.4 sec of one another, takes 50% less Final Damage from all explosions after the first

Fire/Poison Archmage 4th Job Skill Build

4th job for Fire/Poison Archmage is where you get great skills for bossing. Flame Sweep will be your new mobbing skill and it has a good horizontal range. With Destiny, you’ll get 100% Stance and some better mobbing skills. 

Mist Eruption is kind of useless until you get your 5th job skill, Poison Nova. This skill sends out poison balls that deal damage and you can use Mist Eruption. While Mobbing you probably won’t have enough respawn rate where you can explode Poison Nova so this skill is mainly for Bossing. (more on that in the 5th job description)

The explosion’s final damage is increased by 20% if there are 2 DoTs inflicted on the enemy by 45% if there are 3 DoTs, 80% if there are 4 DoTs, or 125% if there are 5 or more DoTs

You can explode a maximum of 6 Mists at the same time
Cooldown: 10 seconds

If Mist Eruption hits an enemy with 5 or more DoTs inflicted, the cooldown is decreased by 2 seconds

This cooldown reduction is applied before other cooldown reduction effects

When it comes to Fire/Poison Archmage you want to buff the main skills that give you more damage.

Megiddo Flame is great for helping you mob or boss, just use it whenever up, and Inferno Aura is a Toggle skill that damages nearby enemies, great for mobbing.

When you reach level 200 and get access to your V Matrix and new 5th job skills. The best way to level them up is through Nodestones and Experience nodes. Fire/Poison Archmage V Skills are,

When it comes to Fire/Poison Archmage early on your 5th job skills are more important than your boost nodes since they are so effective at mobbing and clearing maps. 

Skills like DoT Punisher, Poison Nova, and Poison Chain will make this class feel way better and you should equip them as soon as you can.

An extra tip is that you’ll want to get yourself a Cooldown Reduction Hat since it will make your skills burst a lot more and faster.

Fire/Poison Archmage Perfect Trio Nodes

Fire/Poison Archmage has 3 sets of perfect nodes but only the first 2 are really needed till you get to the late game. They are Ignite, Mist Eruption, Flame Sweep, and Inferno Aura, Flame Haze, Meteor Shower, and Megiddo Flame, Ifrit, Teleport Mastery.

Explosion damage from poisonous clouds may stack, but if more than 3 are applied to a single enemy, the Final Damage for the additional explosions is decreased by 50%

If it ended because the available explosions were used up, every poison is removed and there is an additional explosion
