Are you a new player trying to finish that last quest in the Adventurer’s Path? The task of getting your first 6★ hero may be long and frustrating if you don’t have experience with the game. Don’t worry! Sticking through this tough task and grinding it out is definitely worth it.
The fastest way to get a 6★ hero is to farm 2★ monsters while finishing other quests and collecting catalysts that you need. Level up other 2★ monsters while you are grinding these stages, and promote them when you can. Repeat the loop from 3★ to 4★ until you have five 5★ monsters as fodder.
It really is as simple as that.
Is there an easier method of promoting?
If you have Phantasms already in your storage, then it’ll make the process much easier. Phantasms are monsters that are incredibly useful for promoting heroes. They are on the top of your fodder food chain. They have slightly increased EXP gain (+10%) so when you grind stages to level them it’ll be quicker.
Often, Phantasms come to you maxed out, like when you summon them from your Forest of Souls. The only times they aren’t maxed out are when you encounter and receive them from an urgent mission. This helps out immensely because you won’t have to spend stamina trying to level them up. You can also receive Phantasms from other mission rewards such as from the Abyss or from your Adventurer’s Path.
Note that you can use your Mega and Giga-Phantasms to promote each other, but if you’re extremely patient, then you can save them and get them to 5★. The extra EXP they obtain from completing stages can help in the long run. I, personally, used my Giga-Phantasms to promote my Tera-Phantasms for my first 6★ hero.
There is no other easier method of promoting. The developers of this game don’t want the game to be super easy! This game is meant to be competitive, and you can tell with the Arena and Guild Wars. If the developers made getting a 6★ hero easier, it would mess with the game’s balance. They already have a lot on their plate to take care of, like designing the next waifu!
Which stage should I be grinding?
You want to be looking to do things as efficiently as possible. In the beginning, you’ll be limited by time rather than by stamina, unless you’re running something like Hunt missions over and over and not progressing through either the main story or Adventurer’s Path. Look for other things you need to do such as finding catalysts for an Awakening or Connection, or eliminating a certain species of monster for a Specialty Change. You want to overlap as many of these as you can with the stage that you plan to grind.
Let’s say I’m trying to get Angelic Montmorancy. I’ll be grinding for the Shiny Enchantment catalyst, looking for Spirit kills, and getting Ezera Adventure Points. I would be grinding stage 1-8, or 5-4. These stages provide a Shiny Enchantment in the AP Shop and have Spirit monsters that can be killed, all the while collecting Ezera AP. All the while, I’m leveling up 2★ and 3★ fodder, and promoting them along the way.
If you decide, “to heck with efficiency,” then go ahead and grind out the hardest level you can with as many of the fodder in your team. If you happen to have high level friends that can solo levels with just their single supporter, then you can grind out the level that provides the best EXP/stamina (EXP per stamina). Usually this is the hardest boss level that you’re up to currently in the story mode.
Is getting a 6-star hero even worth it?
Of course! There’s no point in keeping your hero stunted in growth. 6★ heroes at level 60 have about a 25% increase in stats compared to them at 5★, level 50. They are simply stronger. Unless, your goal is just to collect all the waifus and husbandos, then you’ll want a strong team that compete in the highest levels of the Arena or Guild Wars.
Now, the question of whether it’s worth your time, is wholly up to you. What are you getting out of this game, and what do you plan to do with it? If you think you’re up to the challenge, enjoy the grind, and I’ll see you when you have an entire roster of 6★ heroes!
