In Digimon ReArise there is something called DigiWalk. Its purpose is to bring some nostalgia while rewarding you for going outside and exploring. Also, if you want to get the full Digimon experience you should consider getting the widget. The widget is a nifty little thing to make it seem like your Digimon is interacting with you always.
DigiWalk allows you to get items passively while not playing and on the move. The Widget is more of an aesthetic thing and serves as a reminder for small things. Consider getting the Widget so that you can complete the quest and get some Rubies.
DigiWalk
When you log in to Digimon ReArise you’ll notice that on the top there will be something called DigiWalk. DigiWalk is there so that even while you’re on the go and not on the app, you can still be getting useful items in the game. There is an encounter reward and a search reward (Claim Item). While walking, if you happen to cross paths with someone that also has the game and DigiWalk then you will be able to get an item. This is known as the encounter reward and is something you get while doing no work at all!
The search reward (aka Claim Item) is something you receive as you walk. The more steps you take, the more items you will happen to find. I have found that its not really based off steps and is probably based off of distance, sort of like Pokémon GO.
The items you will be finding are mostly food and DigiCare items which are useful when it comes to completing daily and weekly goals. Also, keeping your Digimon at a superb mood is best for damage, defense, crit rate and you get a bonus of getting extra drops after a round.
The fun thing about DigiWalk is that you can customize the screen and it is comparable to a Tomagachi. This emulates a Digivice and is a really nice addition since Digimon is all about the Digivices.

Widget
The widget is used for updates and reminders on your phone. It’s a cute little plus so that you can see your partner Digimon whenever you open your phone and makes you feel like you can interact with it. In order to unlock the widget on an Android, hold down on the main screen for a couple seconds until the “Add Widget” button appears. You’ll see the ReArise option and you can place that anywhere. On iOS, swipe right over the Home Screen and head to the bottom of the page where it says “Edit”. Press the plus icon to add the widget and you can see it on the main screen.
Sometimes you’ll see cute and funny little messages which makes it all worth it!
