Best In Slot Legion Pieces For Your Legion Board – MapleStory

I’m going to tell you the best legion pieces you need for maximizing damage and training. If you need help understanding how legion works and its benefits check out this link where I break it down. Also at the end there’s a final tips section which helps answer questions like limited time event blocks.

Best In Slot Legion Pieces For Training

  • Mo Xuan (Crit Damage)
  • Hayato (Crit Damage)
  • Zero (EXP)
  • Phantom (Meso Obtained)
  • Mercedes (Cooldown Reduction)
  • Shade (Crit Damage)
  • Night Lord and Marksman (if you’re not at 100% critical rate)

The other pieces that can fill up your grid depend on what class you play and what its main stat is. If it’s DEX you want to fill your grid with classes that give DEX (archer section below). Also,  all classes also have a secondary stat. So, if you still have space then add the classes that boost your secondary stat.

Remember the goal here is to give yourself the most damage in order to one shot the mobs. If you can one shot the mob you increase your farming rates significantly.

Best In Slot Legion Pieces For Damage

Once you have all the ones that are good for all classes you move on to the ones that are good for your specific class. Once you’ve done that you can move on to your specific classes secondary stat and add those in. Keep in mind that each piece has a rank that is associated with the character’s level (lvl 250 = SSS rank)

If you’re in the late to end game of progression, getting the ones in good for all classes to SSS rank will be a big source of damage.

Good For All Classes

Your bossing grid setup must have all the ones listed below if you are looking for maximum damage. Ideally they should all be SSS Rank (level 250) for the biggest benefit.

  • Shade (Crit Damage)
  • Blaster (IED)
  • Wild Hunter (Chance To Deal Extra Damage)
  • Demon Avenger (Boss Damage)
  • Mechanic (Buff Duration)
  • Hayato (Crit Damage)
  • Kanna (Boss Damage)
  • Lynn (IED)
  • Mo Xuan (Crit Damage)
  • Sia Astelle (Abnormal Status Damage)

Once you have the main stuff you can move to pieces that are good for specific classes. These will be pieces that just give a flat amount of Stat like STR, DEX, LUK, INT.

Good For Archer Classes

(SSS Rank)

If you main an Archer class you must also have these classes on your legion board for maximum damage. These mainly add DEX and Critical Rate which are must haves for archer classes.

  • Angelic Buster (DEX)
  • Kain (DEX)
  • Xenon (STR, DEX, LUK)
  • Wind Archer (DEX)
  • Night Lord (Critical Rate)
  • Pathfinder (DEX)
  • Bowmaster (DEX)
  • Marksman (Critical Rate)

Good For Warrior Classes

(SSS Rank)

If you main a Warrior class you must also have these classes on your legion board for maximum damage. These mainly add STR which is a must have for most warrior classes.

  • Ark (STR)
  • Kaiser (STR)
  • Adele (STR)
  • Xenon (STR, DEX, LUK)
  • Thunder Breaker (STR)
  • Cannoneer (STR)
  • Buccaneer (STR)
  • Paladin (STR)
  • Hero (STR)

Good For Magician Classes

(SSS Rank)

If you main a Magician class you must also have these classes on your legion board for maximum damage. These mainly add INT which is a must have for most magician classes.

  • Lara (INT)
  • Illium (INT)
  • Kinesis (INT)
  • Battle Mage (INT)
  • Luminous (INT)
  • Evan (MP Recovery)
  • Blaze Wizard (INT)
  • Bishop (INT)
  • Arch Mage (Ice Lightning) (INT)

Good for Thief Classes

(SSS Rank)

  • Hoyoung (LUK)
  • Khali (LUK)
  • Cadena (LUK)
  • Xenon (STR, DEX, LUK)
  • Night Walker (LUK)
  • Dual Blade (LUK)
  • Shadower (LUK)

Good For Pirate Classes

(SSS Rank)

Pirate classes are a bit different since some can have a main stat of STR and others DEX. Just find out what main stat your main is and then follow either the Archer or Warrior section.

Honorable Mentions

  • Mercedes (Lower Skill Cooldown)
  • Dark Knight (Max HP)
  • Dawn Warrior (Max HP)
  • Mihile (Max HP)
  • Aran (HP Recovery)
  • Corsair (Summon Duration)

Mercedes is a really good legion piece for classes that rely on short cooldown bursts and Cooldown Skipping. The problem is sometimes this would cause your skills to be desynced from the rest of your skills or your party. Very minor problem but can be annoying. This piece is also very good for some classes while farming like Night Walker.

Dark Knight, Dawn Warrior, and Mihile all increase your Max HP which is only good for 1 class, Demon Avenger. This does almost nothing for any other class and doesn’t help much in bossing since boss attacks usually do a % of your HP and not a fixed amount. If you main Demon Avenger you should put these pieces on.

Aran gives you the chance to recover % HP which each attack you do. This is super minimal in almost all cases but if you got space this wouldn’t hurt you in any way and is more useful than a piece that gives you absolutely no benefit to your class.

Corsair increases the summon duration of your summons which for some classes like Kanna and Lara are useful. There are a lot of other classes that this does not do anything for and unless the boss is fixed in place they usually teleport out of the summons range anyways.

Legion Grid Bonuses

You’ll notice that the grid also has sections where it can give you certain stats. You do not want to just place your pieces randomly since you could be missing out on a lot of damage. The other parts of the grid cannot be moved around. Only the inner square can be shifted around by clicking on it.

There is a Legion Solver that will Auto-Place pieces for you in the places you want. If this part confuses you, make sure to check out this link where it goes over how legion works and how to use the Auto-Place system..

In the beginning you can basically put it anywhere you want since your grid will be small. Once you reach 4k+ you’ll want to use the solver to put it into specific places.

Legion Grid For Bossing

Most Important

  • Boss Damage
  • Ignore Enemy Defense
  • Critical Damage

Secondary

  • Buff Duration
  • Attack or Magic Attack (depends on your characters)
  • Main Stat
  • Critical Rate (Archers Only)

At 8k legion you’ll be able to fill out everything from the most important section. Once you go higher you can start filling in the other stuff as best you can.

Legion Grid For Training

Most Important

  • Damage Against Normal Monsters
  • Monster EXP
  • Critical Damage
  • Critical Rate (only if you’re not at 100%)

Secondary

  • Attack or Magic Attack
  • Main Stat

At 8k you should be able to fill out the top 3 in the most important section. It is very unlikely you’ll need extra Critical Rate but you should have some in that as well.

Final Tips For Legion Grid and Pieces

You can make different pages for Bossing and Training. Make sure to be in the correct setup before doing anything so you can get the most out of the work you’ve already done.

There is also something called presets which you can make so that you just need to press 2 buttons to switch between farming and bossing setups easily. (links, inner ability, and hyper stat as well)

Just because your class might not benefit at all from a certain piece does not mean you should leave it off your board. Remember you want to fill up as many slots on the grid as possible and some pieces are better at doing that than others. For example, archer pieces are just straight line blocks which is really helpful when going through the middle to another section of the grid.

There are Event Exclusive Legion Blocks which can also be used in your account. You can only have 2 of these on your grid and they do not count towards your maximum number of pieces you can put on the grid. (you’ll see a +1 or +2 when you put them in) Since they are Event Exclusive you might not have them immediately and just need to wait and keep playing until the event comes around. They give flat Attack and Magic Attack and should always be put in your legion grid.

As more classes come out I’ll be updating this so you can always get the best info.
